Holistic Therapy vs. Spiritual Healing: What’s the Difference?

Understanding Different Types of Psychic Healing Work

As a “Holistic Therapist” and “Spiritual Healer,” I’m often asked “what exactly does that mean?” and “how can it help?”

The actual meaning of “holistic” is that when treating a person, you are treating the whole person, mentally and physically, not just a specific illness.

The last thing a person wants to hear is me dribbling on about the histrionics of holistic therapy. Even though there are certain protocols that have to be followed, when you have your introductory visit with any therapist. I’m letting you know this so that if you do ever consider consulting one, it’s important they are fully qualified.

Now, my simple explanation of “why” and “how” Holistic Therapy can help us.

Emotions are like a labyrinth. Early childhood is where the door to the labyrinth opens.

As children we are void of choice, and we rely solely on adults making them for us. These choices are not always the right ones, which unbeknownst to us at the time can have a much bigger effect than we realize later on in life. This is the start of the emotional blockages.

As we start to grow into adulthood, our choices become our own, although some of these come out of circumstances, from people that walk into and also out of our lives. All of which add to the already blocked energy centers.

As with all labyrinths, there are many doors, twists and turns. Although these doors open boundless opportunities of newness, learning and the gaining of experience. We can forget to shut the old doors behind us. Leaving them ajar can cause a “draft,” which leaves a “pain in the neck, aching hearts and other various health issues.”

Holistic Therapy is all about helping us to learn how to close these open doorways we have already walked through, treating the after-effects of illness, both emotionally and physically and ridding us of the blockages that have been embedded deep into our fragile energy centers for far too long.

These energy centers are like vortexes that at times need regeneration. It’s a bit like a car – if you fail to put petrol or oil into it, then it will break down and stop working altogether. We all need an oil change now and again.

If only we had a “remote control” for life, where we can “rewind, pause and fast forward.” Sadly, we don’t have one. However, what we do have is “choice.” We can be free or a victim in the labyrinth of life. Every individual person has healing abilities both for themselves and others too. A simple smile to a stranger may not mean much to you, but to them can have a wonderful, uplifting healing effect on their lives.

We live in a world that’s fast and furious, tarnished with fears, stress and endless problems connected to love, work, family and money. However, if we just take a little time to learn how to close the emotional doors before walking through new ones, our journey through the Labyrinth would be a much easier one to handle, filling our lives with great joy, peace and contentment that so many of us yearn for.

Our lives are forever changing, as are our bodies and responsibilities.

To all of you that have taken the time to read this, I thank you and also hope that it has explained a little about how holistics work and help us all. Maybe, just maybe, it has also opened another new door for you too.
