7 Sacred Days of the Week

It may not be widely realized, but the seven days of the week were named according to the original seven sacred planets. Additionally, Gods and Goddesses were assigned rulership over the planets based on corresponding attributes. Understanding what energy is embodied in each day of the week can assist you in selecting the best days to begin manifesting your goals.

Sunday, the day of the Sun, is ruled by Apollo, the Sun God. When you desire an extra boost of energy in your life, motivation, excitement and vitality, Sunday will offer you the strongest support. Ready to begin a new exercise routine? Begin it on a Sunday.

Monday, the day of the Moon, is ruled by the moon goddess Luna. As this goddess embodies the aspects of motherhood, Monday will offer greater success in fertility, childbirth, parenting, ocean rituals (as the moon is connected with the tides), and moon rites involving wishing upon stars.

Tuesday, the day of planet Mars, is ruled by Ares, the god of war, and the son of Zeus and Hera. On Tuesday, connect to your inner strength, the athlete in you, and praise your endurance. It may also serve as the day you choose to confront lingering situations and tackle unresolved matters.

Wednesday, the day of Mercury, is ruled by the Germanic God Woden (the Scandinavian god that corresponds is Odin), the great messenger and poet. Wednesday is an excellent time to draft letters, write speeches or make that dreaded phone call.

Thursday is the day of expansive Jupiter, ruled by the God Thor, the warrior. Thursdays address aspects of wealth, power and royalty in your life. Feeling like you want to play the lottery? Make an investment? Or run for a political office? Begin these endeavors on a Thursday.

Friday, the day of planet Venus, honors love Goddess Freya. Romance is in the air on Friday, and you may want to take advantage of the increased sexuality in your partner. Honor Fridays with flowers, candles and aesthetic beauty.

Saturday, the day of planet Saturn, is ruled by the Roman god Saturn (equated with the Greek God Cronus). Prayers, workings and rituals on Saturdays should correspond with addressing restrictions, delays and set-backs in you life, and discovering a way to overcoming such obstacles.

Brings new meaning to the courteous phrase “Have a good week?” doesn’t it? Knowing the daily attributes, what do you plan on doing different this week to help make it a “Good week?”

Lisa, thank you for your kind comment and for taking the time to read the article!

And kudos to Gina Rose for directing the callers to a great resource. I wasn’t aware that a source like that existed online. I think most people have no idea what “day” of the week they were born, and this will provide a quick answer.

Enjoy the comparison for fun and accuracy!

    Faithfully,
