Make Your Dreams a Reality

Turning Your Dreams Into an Empire

Stop. What are you doing right now (besides reading this article)? Are you beading a necklace or organizing closets? Were you just out walking the dogs? When you have some free time, what is it that you feel compelled to do—drawn to do? If you follow your dreams and create with passion—something with a practical purpose or aesthetic appeal—you may have what it takes to turn a hobby into an empire.

There are thousands of people who do things they don’t even know others would pay them for. If you’re one of them, then your hobby could be something that propels you to the next level.

Fame, Fortune and Flights of Fancy

There’s no getting around it—the practical side that is—if you have dreams of being rich and famous. Well, anything’s possible, but having a better life, making extra cash, feeling that “missing piece” fulfilled in your life—these are all very possible. You can turn your dreams into a reality.

If you have something people want, whether it’s artistic or service-oriented, all you need besides creativity is a practical plan and a little ingenuity. These are your goals and how far you want to take them is a matter of personal preference, but why not approach this with the goal of making it big?

There are some ground rules if you want to make money:

“To manifest things in your life, meditate on the feeling of already having it.” – Rivers ext. 5273

Don’t quit your day job if you have one. Things take time to build and a little patience is a good thing. Besides co-workers can be great business leads. Just don’t let one job interfere with the other.

Follow others. See how similar businesses run. Make connections.

Only do it if it’s fun and/or rewarding. It won’t always be all sunshine, but if it stops being fun, it becomes work and that’s not fun. The fun part will get you started; the rewarding part will keep you going long-term.

Set your goals and do occasional inventory on where you are. Having even a mini-business plan is a good idea. What are your costs? What are your financial goals? When do you decide to grow your business? Putting things on paper paints an invaluable picture.

Start a blog and advertise. Sell your stuff online on the many sell-sites like Etsy.com, for instance. Link your sell page with your blog and twitter and Facebook. It’s easy and free self-promotion. You can even set your blog posts to post on those sites automatically—done and done.

Manage your time. There are things you need to do and things that you can do occasionally. That’s where a plan comes in handy.

Tell everyone and anyone. Get cheap business cards and send emails to friends. Use free advertising sites.

The possibilities are endless and it’s no bull to say that you can make your dreams a reality. Focus on your success and having a fulfilled and happy life. We all deserve it, and it is possible.

Dear Eunice: I can see your point, but I made my dream into a job and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. If you truly enjoy doing something it’s never a job. There may be times when the pressure to get things done takes the fun out of things, but if you push through that you wind up with a great sense of accomplishment and what you have created is a reminder that you can conquer great things. You have to think outside of the box. A couple near me spend all winter (East coast) making and painting birdhouses – beautiful birdhouses – and then twice a week they sell them at the foot of their driveway in the summer – they’ve grown so popular, I think they’ve grown it into a full-time business. No pressure – what they make they sell. Having a second “job” can seem impossible, but if you relax by hobbying and then sell that craft on the side, see how wonderful it feels. Thanks.
Prithvi: Not sure what you mean but work has shown results for me way more than luck has – although luck is nice, it shows up when it wants to and not always when we need it. Thanks.
Ogu: Read any of mine (or any other blog writers’ articles) to find out your money horoscope for the summer, the current month. Hope that helps. There is a Summer Money Forecast for all 12 signs on this blog. thanks.
