Understanding Dreams About Exes
Sarah in Orlando, Florida writes:
I very recently had a dream that I was going to a class where the professor had a very thick German accent that I couldn’t understand. While I was sitting in class, I wasn’t paying attention, and my ex and his old best friend were sitting near me. I haven’t seen either of them in years. I went to leave and they started talking to me—I don’t know what they were saying, but it seemed as if they were trying to convince me to pull a prank. This is the last thing I remember before waking.
Because classes are learning environments, and the professor was hard to understand, your dream likely reveals a lesson that you’re having trouble comprehending. Plus, you’re not paying attention. The issue is connected somehow to your relationships. Here’s a clue: Because your ex was so distracting, the dream may indicate that romance is taking your focus away from other parts of your life that need your attention. You indicated you’re a Pisces, which makes you deeply empathetic to the needs of others, perhaps to the exclusion of your own needs and desires. Does that make sense? Do you lose yourself in the person you love? Or, conversely, are you the strong caregiver in your relationships? Either way, your relationships would pull you away from what you need to do.
But why, after all these years of being apart, are you dreaming of your ex now?

I believe there is something happening in your life currently that has triggered the dream. Think about the role a significant other has in your life, especially in relation to your other goals, and I think the message of the dream will come to you.
