Dreams About Moving

Charlene in Ottawa, Canada writes:

Hi Cortney,

I have three recurring dreams. In dream No. 1, I have moved or am on vacation, and I can’t remember where I live or what room I am staying in. It is very frustrating. I feel like I know I am supposed to be there, but don’t know exactly which place or room is mine.

In dream No. 2, I go get the mail and there are lots and lots of letters. I try to sort out my mail from the misdirected mail (wrong name and address). The mail never ends! This is a recurring theme in a lot of the places I used to live in, but never where I live now…

In dream No. 3, I am “home,” but it’s rarely a place where I have actually lived, and I keep finding rooms that were not there before. I go around a corner and suddenly discover a new room, a new bathroom, a new closet, whatever. I can go from a one-bedroom apartment to a 20-room home.

I have been having dreams No. 1 and 2 a lot over the past several months. Can you help? Thanks so much!

Cortney responds:

Hello Charlene,

The first two dreams are about making choices. In the first dream, you’ve made an inner change (a move) that requires you to choose where you need to go from there. A vacation home might mean you’re in a transitory phase of your life, or at least that’s the way you feel.

In the second dream, you’re sorting through ideas or choices, trying to find ones that are right for you. Fortunately, you have lots of options: a very good thing! You just need to weed out the ones that are good for other people but aren’t on your own path. Listening to your inner guidance and ignoring the opinions of others, for the most part, will help you find your direction.

The third dream is about discovering new abilities within yourself, as represented by the new rooms. You’re definitely in a period of accelerated personal growth, with lots going on in your life. Best of luck!

Sweet dreams,
Cortney

I’ve Been Having Alot Of Dreams About Moving Lately, Probably Because I Just Recently Moved, And Therefor I’m Having Alot More Dreams About Moving, Than I Usually Do Yikes! Most Of The Dreams Are About Having To Move Stuff, Like Junk Kind Of Stuff. (I Find Myself Dragging Around, Trying To Drag My Junk Around, In The Dreams Lately!) I Find Myself Being Rather Quite Undecided, How To Go About Moving My Collected Junk Around With Me, While Trying To Be Motivated Enough, To Actually Wanting To Drag All Of The Collected Junk Around With Me, In My Dreams Lately Uhg! (Just Uhg!) Or Having To Move From Someplace, That I Really Don’t Want To Leave, Because It’s Time To Move On From That Place, And I Don’t Like It! (I Don’t Like My Most Recent Dreams, About Having To Move Away From A Place, For Which I Might Have Really Maybe Wanted To Stay Around In, However, I Find Myself Having To Move Away From The Place That I Really Maybe Kind Of Wanted To Stay In, Because I Guess It’s Time To Move, In The Dream Or Whatever, And I Don’t Really Like It At All!) 🙁

    Dear Marin,

This is my first time reding your blog on Feng Shui. I am interested in knowing more about jacqueline using white paper and tinfoil. Can you please email me the reason for using it and how and where to put it?

    Thank you,
