Get in control! Lucid Dreaming is a dream in which the sleeper is fully aware that he or she is dreaming. Lucid means easily understood or comprehensible. When the dreamer becomes lucid, he or she can actively participate and manipulate the direction the imaginary dream circumstances can go. The dreamer slips into lucid dreaming one of three ways:
Dream-Intiated Lucid Dream (DILB)
The dreamer begins in normal dream state and then concludes that he or she is dreaming.
Wake-Intiated Lucid Dream (WILD)
The dreamer goes from normal waking state directly into a dream state.
Mnemonic-Intiated Lucid Dream (MILD)
The dreamer intentionally trains one’s mind to become lucid during the upcoming sleep.
