A Day in the Life: Psychic Monique

When you have a day off, what does that typically look like?

Every day when I wake up, the first thing I do is make my bed. Then I go start my coffee. I love to have my coffee on my patio, which is connected to a small wildlife conservatory there. I watch the ducks and the turtles and the squirrels start their day as I’m listening to the waterfalls. This kind of puts me in a meditative state as I prepare for my day.

On my days off, one of my favorite things to do is to go [on] about a 10 to 20 mile bike ride. I happen to live near the ocean and so I’ll ride my bike a few miles to the ocean and then ride along the coastline. This just seems to soothe my soul, reenergize my muscles, and [help] clear my mind of my frustrations and the lack of control that we truly have in life. My other true enjoyment for all my days off is picking at least one person to connect with that I haven’t talked to all week and giving [them] a call to see how their life’s going. Connections [are] important…

I do love the sun, so [it’s common to] find me out in it. Whether it’s gardening or…playing in a pool or [riding] on a bike or enjoying [time with] my friends, [it] is always something that brightens my spirit and eases my soul.

Tell us something interesting that your clients would love to know about you.

• I have a very vast collection of amazing crystals.
• I raise exotic cats, underfoot only.
• I communicate with animals.
• I come from a long line of amazing artists. [They work with] paint, wood, ceramics, etc.
• I have personally owned or been partial owner [of] over 12 businesses, including being in real estate for over 20 years.

Do you have any go-to mantras?

• “Observe don’t absorb.” As an empathic healer, I believe this is an essential mantra to live by, [especially when] dealing with so many people on different levels of their journey.
• “How is that working for you so far?” This is what I tell myself when I’m struggling to change a bad habit or talk to somebody that I’ve had difficult conversations with in the past. This mantra helps me change and do better. [It helps me realize] that the way I’ve done something hasn’t worked, so [I’d] better change if I want it to work.
• “It is what it is.” When I don’t know why but I know I’ve got to follow my heart and just move forward, this is what I say.
• “It’ll be what it’ll be, and I have no control over it.” This has been an important one to accept and, as I’ve matured in my craft, I’ve come to the realization that this is an essential [part] of living a conscious life in peace.

What advice would you give a first-time reader?

So, one of the best pieces of advice I can give somebody [who] is calling for the first time is to write down a few questions that you have about the subject on your mind. Whether that’s [about your] relationship, your career, your money, or your own personal improvement, please write it down and organize your concerns. When and how did you discover your psychic abilities?

I’m a natural-born intuitive, empathic psychic, [though] my true understanding that that was the case didn’t come [until] later… My experience of things being different, seeing visions, hearing noises, and getting feelings started at a very, very young age. I remember at 3 and 4 years old knowing something was wrong with my sister and going to check on her and fixing whatever was wrong. I actually struggled with fitting in because I would want to warn people that something might go wrong or that somebody liked them or that they needed to work on something to improve for a school test. As young child, I was involved in an extreme religion, so my psychic abilities were looked at in a negative way. I didn’t really talk about them, nor did I nurture them until I was in my 20s.
