What the World Needs Now: Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in Love

The Love That We Love

As we approach Valentine’s Day this year, we are facing some very exciting and unpredictable possibilities in love. Venus, the planet of love, is in the fiery sign of Aries with the planet of sudden changes Uranus. This means that new love can happen suddenly, unexpectedly and out of the blue. Saturn has been in Libra all year and is almost ready to change signs, meaning that relationships may be re-evaluated or ending. Venus is squaring Pluto, which can also mean endings, and Neptune has been travelling with Chiron in the very romantic signs of Pisces meaning soul mates are all around at this time.

To give you a fresh perspective this Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be fun to take a look at a well known couple, who have never married, but remain blissfully in love. Through the chart of their first date, which many astrologers believe tells the whole story from start to finish, we’ll  gather some clues and inspiration from this happy pair.

Kurt and Goldie’s First Date Tells the Whole Story

In 1983, the producer of Swing Shift auditioned Disney star Kurt Russell to play opposite her. He was smitten immediately and she felt completely at home and instantly attracted. As luck would have it for this article, their first date took place on Valentine’s Day (What are the chances?). Late that night, Hawn suggested they go to her house; Russell was asking her a question and turned toward her, and she was leaping in the air towards him… and the rest, as they say twenty-six years later, is history.

In the chart of their first date, the dynamics for life-long partnership are already in place. With Moon, Venus and Mars all in the sign of unconditional love Pisces (where Venus is in exaltation) are all together in the 7th house of partnership. With the lunar emphasis, we would expect to see comfort, and the Venus and Mars conjunction show highly-charged chemistry and a sense of partnership right from the get-go. Pisces energy in the 7th tends to be free flowing, openly loving without judgment and romantic but with some vagueness and lack of definition which can sometimes be frustrating.

The sun of the meet chart is with Juno (which some Western astrologers consider to be an asteroid of marriage, as she was the wife of Zeus), but others (the Magi Eastern astrologers) consider Juno to be a sign of a sexual passion and affair outside of marriage. So we see the Sun (the essence) of the meet chart in the freedom loving sign of Aquarius just outside of the Pisces ruled 7th house of marriage (close but no cigar), conjoined Juno the asteroid of either marriage or sexual affair, depending on your perspective.

Either way, the sun and Juno are in the freedom loving sign of Aquarius which means fundamentally the relationship itself would resist restriction or an institution like marriage. In the 4th house of this chart, we find Jupiter in its rulership bringing great abundance (and in fact, they each are independently financially prosperous) expansion, fun as well as philosophy (she’s Jewish/Buddhist with a foundation for mindfulness, and he’s an outspoken Libertarian), travel, happiness and need for open unrestricted expression, conjoined Uranus (planet of freedom and higher consciousness) and Neptune (idealism, no boundaries and unconditional love – again!).

All of this is conjoined with the South Node and part of a large bowl formation giving focus, ease and a sense of having known each other before that makes things flow easily and keep flowing without break. When planets fall in the 4th house, a relationship will feel very comfortable and at home with each other. The two benefics Venus (love) and Jupiter (happiness) are essentially angular in their first meeting chart, giving them lots of positive energy to draw on endlessly.

“People we attract into our life are reflections of who we are, therefore become first what it is you want to attract.” – Rivers ext. 5273

The challenging areas for these two according to this chart are in communication where we find both Pluto in Libra and Saturn in Scorpio in the 3rd house showing either blocks in communication or fears about commitment. The South Node is in Capricorn, which could mean they met through work (they did) and they both came in with baggage about commitment (they did). Their North Node or purpose together is to form a nurturing family (they each brought children to the marriage and had a child together). Further, the North Node of the meet chart is on the 10th and 11th house cusp, indicating that by both fulfilling their own respective life paths and their individual objectives and dreams, they will be fulfilling their purpose together.

In sum, based on this wonderful first date chart, it looks to me that this unique couple will go on blissfully unwed indefinitely. So, in answer to our question, does the chart of the meet tell the whole story? I would answer, resoundingly, Yes! And as a special bonus, there are some great tidbits for the rest of us, as well, as some key factors that go into the care and feeding of a long and happy union and also keeping love fresh, hot and exciting!

    Happy Valentine’s Day, Free Spirits!

Some relationships really work much much better outside of a comittment. Your charts as well as psychic impressions can clarify if you are in this category!

Yes, Carol. I agree. Goldie is delightful and used to take Jazzercize from my old Jazzercize teacher!

Ophelia, what a beautiful name! So glad you enjoyed the piece and I agree the quotes by my colleagues are wonderful!

Quinn, Great question. I will try to track them down if available and see what they have to say! Oprah is an Aquarius like me and loves her freedom!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Free Spirits! Yes, some relationships actually work better outside of comittment and marriage! Your charts, your day of meeting and your psychic impressions will shed light on this!

Yes, Carol, I agree. Goldie is a delight! She used to take Jazzercize from my old Jazzercize teacher. What are the chances!? I loved her on Laugh In as well!

Ophelia (what a beautiful name!)…..I have a gorgeous PreRaphaelite painting of Ophelia….Yes the quotes by my colleagues are very insightful! I agree!

Quinn, Thank you and great question! Oprah is an Aquarius like me and we love our freedom. Not really wired for traditional marriage. Will have to try to track down the time of their actual meeting or first date…..see if it sheds light!

Yes, Gina Rose, they seem to have a lot of fun together and still tons of great chemistry!
    Sometimes marriage can squelch that.

Hope everyone had a meaningful Valentine’s Day! Remember – Valentine’s Day falls on Feb 14th smack dab in the sign of Aquarius which rules friendship, honest dialot and freedom. Never forget how important these qualities together with your own unique sense of self identity are for healthy intimate partnerships!

Happy Birthday Aquarius – this means me!

    Hugs to all,
