Love Being Single on Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day and Every Other Day of the Year

Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be about couples (despite what card companies, florists, chocolatiers and jewelry stores tell us). If you’ve got love in your heart and want to share it with someone, it doesn’t mean that someone has to be a lover! Here are a few tips for those love-filled singles out there looking for alternative ways to participate in this holiday of love.

Valentine’s Day is a special day to remember and celebrate the people we love, and always remember to include yourself!” – Psychic Deejay ext. 5435

1. Treat yourself to a spa day. Get the full-body treatment at that four-star spa all your girlfriends have been raving about. You can even invite them along.

2. Plan a girls’/guys’ night for all your single friends. Get a posse together and hit the dance floor.

3. Send Valentine’s Day cards to soldiers abroad, retirement home residents or children waiting to be adopted.

4. Host a Valentine’s Day party for your child’s classroom. Bring treats for all the kids and make sure everyone gets a card.

5. Adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue group. There’s nothing like the unconditional love you get from a furry friend.

6. Volunteer at a food bank or rescue mission for the day. Bag groceries or serve meals to the less fortunate.

7. Make Valentine’s Day a family holiday. Host a potluck for your relatives and tell each of them what you love most about them.

8. Donate blood. Not only is this a loving gift, but it’s also a life-saving one.

9. Make a list of all the things you love about yourself. Refer back to it when you are feeling self-critical.

10. Reflect on what you love about being single. You have the freedom to make your own decisions and are accountable to no one!

Wonderful article. Thanks so much! All the activities you suggest are so much better than getting blind drunk and whining about being single :)))

And it is true that people who love themselves, not in a selfish-bitchy way, but in a calm, quiet, and respectful way, find loving partners much easier than those who relate their worth solely to being in a relationship.

Love yourself, love the world, and your life will become so much happier.

Happy belated St. Valentine’s Day to all!

I’m single and having a great Valentine’s Day. Saint Valentine was known for being loving and compassionate to others. His love for people was not romantic. Can you imagine Saint Valentine coming out of a club with a lady on each arm? Can you imagine him having been sainted for giving chocolates to a lover?
It’s fine to be single on Valentine’s Day. Saint Valentine was single, too.

    Love # 5 tip….

Adopt !!!! don’t shop for a pet….rescue and give a loving little soul a good home and that pet will pay you back EVERY DAY of the year in UNCONDITIONAL love.

    Blessed Be )O(

you are so right when you say one doesn’t need a partner to be happy on valentines day, i just came from the hair salon, did my hair and nails to spoil myself on this day and told myself how much I love me

it was a perfect understanding for V day for whom tend to feel and expect, focusing on ‘what to take from some significiant other,
but on the other hand, the whole theme of love requires much to’ giving’ to make living ones happy to take in back..

    thanks,

Valentine’s Day, for many people a beautiful day…But not for me, I’m single. Not that it matters so much, but it’s the thought that count. Everywhere you look, you see hearts and people in love…and here I am, not a person to talk too. I guess I will have a drink or two or three and the day will pass.
But who am I to complain? Lots of people are in a worse situation than I am.
I pray to the Lord that one day some of this persons will have a real valentine’s day!
Isn’t this what we all should do?
