immediately think of sports like golf, baseball, basketball, hockey, or
cricket, not astrology. However, planets can also be out of bounds and impact

The term ‘out of bounds’ was developed by the late KT
Boehrer, an astrologer who focused on the latitude of planets in relation to
the equator and the sun’s movement.
An Out of Bounds (OOB) planet’s declination exceeds 23
degrees 27 minutes either North or South of the equator. The more OOB planets a
person has in their birth chart and the further the declination each planet is,
the more creative thinking they show, and the more their interests and
preferences differ from the society that they live in.
The differences can be either positive or negative in nature. On the positive side of the coin, OOB planets tend to lead people to be visionary, inspirational, original, and they cling to freedom of thought and action. On the flip side, Out of Bounds planets can contribute to abnormal thoughts and feelings, insanity, and a disregard for law and order.
Individuals with Out of Bounds planets often feel
misunderstood and are considered outcasts, though it can also end in great
innovation and bring new ideas to the collective.
Some Fun Facts About Out of Bounds Planets
- Not all planets go out of bounds: The sun, Saturn, and Neptune will never be Out of Bounds and Jupiter only very rarely goes OOB.
- The moon leads the pack: The moon will go Out of Bounds most frequently and reaches a maximum of nearly 29 degrees roughly every 18.6 years.
- Some Out of Bounds planets affect a generation: Uranus and Pluto do not go much beyond 23 degrees 27 minutes, but when they do, they have a generational effect.
- Extraordinary people abound: Whether for positive or negative reasons, people who have Out of Bounds planets leave their marks on the world around them.

In his article, The Out-Of-Bounds Moon, Steven Forrest defines nine typical manifestations and gives many examples. Here are four of the most typical categories, and some examples:
- Choosing to Leave, Breaking Out, Outlaws: These people have a tendency “to walk away from situations which more conventional individuals might consider prestigious or desirable,” or they might decide to escape from the rules and norms of the society they were born into. One example is Cat Stevens, a musician from the 1960s who left his stardom behind to follow his Muslim faith.
- Geniuses: Those who “think outside the box.” A great example is Albert Einstein.
- Zany Characters: The former Russian president, Boris Yeltsin, is a good example.
- Sociopaths and Criminals: One example here is Carlos the Jackal, the international assassin.
