‘Iron Man 2’ Astrology

Put a bad boy Aries, a balanced Libra, an amiable Sag, a calculating Virgo, and a sultry Scorpio all together and what do you get? In the case of one of this summer’s biggest film releases, Iron Man 2, it’s a fireball sure to be steam-propelled to the stratosphere.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, and Scarlett Johansson, the film is a perfect astrological cocktail that is two parts Fire and one part Earth, Water, and Air combined. For that reason (and considering the film’s practically guaranteed success – which is trumped solely by the action-comedy punch the premise promises), it’s no surprise that Iron Man 2 should have something for everyone. Let’s have a look at the stars of the stars for what we might expect to see!

As billionaire Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), actor Robert Downey Jr., is given the chance to bring all his Aries Sun and Leo Rising to the fore. Not only is Tony forceful and determined (someone who is determined to win at all costs) as Iron Man, but he’s a bad boy charmer when not in the Iron suit, too.

His assistant, Pepper Potts, on the other hand, offers a dose of prim, do-right perfection – and who better to channel these qualities than lovely Libran, Gwyneth Paltrow. Everyone knows that Pepper’s got a soft spot for the boss — and Paltrow’s got a soft Pisces Ascendant to help her convey that more sensitive (secretly love-struck) side.

Meanwhile, though Tony Stark can be abrasive (like all Aries can), his right hand man and partner Lt. Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes is as smooth and likable as can be, with an added adventurous streak — otherwise, why would he be in business with Stark in the first place? All of which astrologically explains the re-casting of the part with Sagittarian Don Cheadle, who is known to be everyone’s favorite guy. Add his justice-inspired Libran Moon to the mix and it’s a casting combo courtesy of the cosmos.

Lastly, what is a comic-book movie without its villains? Iron Man 2 won’t give us a chance to find out! With Virgo Mickey Rourke bringing his Sun Sign precision and Leo Moon fire to his role as Ivan Vanko (aka Crimson Dynamo) and sultry Scorpio Scarlett Johansson who plays  mysterious Natalie Roman (aka Natasha Romanoff), who may – or may not be – a double agent, Tony and his team will have their work cut out for them … and though we may have an idea of who wins, the fight to the finish is sure to be fun.
