Psychic Jesse: Learning Life Lessons From Animals

Four-Legged Life Lessons

There are many moments when human lives and the lives and perceptions of animals intersect. You may think your four-legged companion is great to play with and take for walks. You may appreciate their company and their ability to make you smile. But animals can do so much more for us if we let them! All you have to do is observe their behavior, and you will gain valuable insights into your own life. Yes, animals are teachers of life lessons. I wrote this article to draw your attention to some of the many life lessons your four-legged friends want you to learn.

Animals See Differently

Have you ever caught your dog or cat just staring off into space? You may be wondering what they’re looking at, even if you can’t see anything. But just because you can’t see something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. As humans, we have a limited visual spectrum. But animals see in different light spectrums and that means they can and do see things we don’t. You already know your dog or cat hears sounds you can’t hear, but the same is true for what they can see. Perhaps your pet is seeing into the spirit world or into other dimensions….

Animal Life Lesson: Human perception is limited. Just because we can’t see or comprehend something, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Pack Mentality

When it comes to relationships, your dog’s wild ancestor, the wolf, is an excellent teacher. Not only do these magical and powerfully spiritual beings mate for life, they also protect their pack at all costs. They do not abandon their pack when situations get difficult. They also guard the young and understand their individual placement within the pack and they do not try to alter that placement.

Animal Life Lesson: When things get tough, we panic and consider fleeing (or actually flee) an uncomfortable situation. Instead, we should rise to the challenge and work through it. When it comes to family or love, we should be protective and loyal. When it comes to relationships, we should put our best effort into making it work. We all play an important role in the “pack.”

Devotion and Dedication

The proven bond that many animals have with one another and, in many cases, with humans, has baffled and inspired many animal behaviorists for decades. The devotion and dedication offered by many animals is of such magnitude that we stand in amazement when it is witnessed. Have you ever seen a dog guard and care for an injured friend? Have you read about a dog mourning at the grave of its human?

Animal Life Lesson: Dedication to friends and family is paramount. We need to support each other through good and bad times.

Observe, Listen and Honor

We could learn so much from animals if we would only have the courage to observe, listen and honor the powerful insights with which they have operated for tens of thousands of years. They are our elders and our companions and they can teach us so very much. Psychically, emotionally and physically, animals await to be our teachers, friends and guides. I hope this article makes you look at your four-legged companions differently. I truly believe that pets are more than just fun, comforting companions, and I hope that you agree!

One night, I fell asleep on the couch. My husband was in bed sleeping when suddenly he felt one of our two cats jump on him, meowing loudly in his ears. This awoke him, of course, because Sammie never did that – it was the first and only time. My husband immediately knew something was wrong. He got up and walked to where I had fallen asleep. I was having convulsions from severe low blood sugar. Even during these convulsions, my other cat, Molly laid on me, never moving. She was guarding me while Sammie went to the bedroom to get help. That was 15 years ago and I will never forget what my two little guardian angels did for me that night.

    “When I lost my friend”

It came to me that every time I lose a Dog, they take a piece of my Heart with them!

And with every new Dog who comes into my life, they gift me with a piece of their heart!

So, if I live long enough, then all the components of my Heart will be a Dogs,
and I will have become as generous and loving as they are!

God Bless Them All, Big or Small.

A “Dog” < Spelled backwards is "God"

They are His Loving Companions, and he allows them to stay with us on earth,
to be our companions for a short time!

A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes or designer clothes.
A water logged stick will do just fine.

A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, glamorous or dull, or even smart or dumb!
Give them your heart, and they will give you theirs!

They greet you every day as if it has been forever since you went away!
They snuggle with you, and all they hope for is a pat or a belly rub that day!

If they don't get either, they still love you and don't hold a grudge.
Keep my water bowl and food bowl full, is all they ask in their own way!

When you go to sleep and they lay by the bed or even the door
They won't sleep till morning when they see your feet touch the floor!

They watch you leave with those sad eyes, and stare out a window or at a door!
They don't wear a watch, or even read a clock, but they know when it's time for you to arrive at the door!

They're always glad to see you, no matter what time you come home!

How many people can you say that about?
How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special?
How many people can make you feel extraordinary?

Love them as much as you can, and as long as you can!
Because they are only allowed to stay with us for a short time!

Something to think about….WE are not the only species on the planet that matter……..

The world’s animal population has halved in 40 years as humans put unsustainable demands on Earth, a new report warns.

The World Wide Fund for Nature’s Living Planet Index, released Tuesday, revealed the dramatic decline in animal species, and said the trend could cost the world billions in economic losses.

Humans need one and a half Earths to sustain their current demands, it said.

The index, which draws on research around WWF’s database of 3,000 animal species, is released every two years. This year’s has the starkest warning yet of the risks associated with the decline of wildlife.

The fund notes that it’s relying on a never-before-used methodology in this year’s report, “which aims to be more representative of global biodiversity.”

    Wildlife population decline….

The index showed shows a 52% decline in wildlife between 1970 and 2010, far more than earlier estimates of 30%. It is due to people killing too many animals for food and destroying their habitats.

“We are eating into our natural capital, making it more difficult to sustain the needs of future generations,” the report said.

Researchers from the Zoological Society of London looked at changes in populations of more than 3,000 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, tracking over 10,000 different populations.

The decline in animals living in rivers, lakes and wetlands is the worst — 76% of freshwater wildlife disappeared in just 40 years. Marine species and animals living on land suffered 39% decline in their populations.

Animals living in tropics are the worst hit by what WWF calls “the biggest recorded threats to our planet’s wildlife” as 63% of wildlife living in tropics has vanished. Central and South America shows the most dramatic regional decline, with a fall of 83%.

And while the animals are suffering now, the long-term impact will be on people, the report said.

Marco Lambertini, director general of WWF International, said “protecting nature is not a luxury….it is quite the opposite. For many of the world’s poorest people, it is a lifeline.”

According to Lambertini, the threat to oceans could create economic losses of up to $428 billion by 2050. The global fishing sector employs more than 660 million people, and fish provide more than 15% of protein in people’s diet.

Global food security is under threat as the demands of growing population drain the resources. Forests provide water, fuel and food for more than billion people, including 350 million of the world’s poorest people.

Animals also teach us how to ” be present in the moment ” …..as they live moment to moment.

Also, because of that, they teach us true unconditional love AND forgiveness.

    Loved your article, Jesse !

    Dear Jesse,

thanks you for sharing these great insights about our animal friends.
I absolutely agree with you. The same is namely true with children
starting from birth on. Observing, mothers’ intuition, listening…
I ended up writing a book on it.
Well, an absolute must for such insights is taking one’s time for it.
Most people don’t because jobs, careers, money, power etc. are so
much more important. Why do humans believe we actually know anything?!
Just because we’ve read about it, someone told us so or there was a forum
discussion on it but we ourselves never made the experience.
Yes, the tribes and ancient people were people of knowledge who observed
and learned from it. Nowadays, most people are just wandering in the dark.
Thank you, Father Civilization for creating masses of ignorants!
I am turning rather to Mother Nature!

    Hi Jesse,
What a wonderful article. I could go on for hours about this. I have rescue dogs, some very sad stories but good endings, they come to me to live out the rest of their lives with gentle hands and lots of love. What they have told me in their own way the last 20 years is amazing, right down to when my dad was not going to make it and was in God’s wonderful hands. Not everyone believes in this ability so I do not talk about it often. I always dreamed of having a huge rescue shelter but this is out of my league financially so I do what I can with 4 or 5 at a time.
    Have a wonderful day,

After I lost my son, my dogs became my reason for getting up in the morning. My deafblind rescuepup, Gabriel, can see and hear things the rest of us cannot. He will “stare” or cock his head as he “listens” to something unseen and unheard.

She is very alert to her surroundings and i always wonder what she see,s or hears because my MOM and my sister passed before we got her. And she acts funny sometimes around there old rooms and in the house in general. Is it possible that they are still here and she see,s them? Thanks for letting me know about my dogs senses

Thank you for this lovely article, Jesse. Like you, I believe that once we drop the wall of
“I am human/you are animal,” our beloved pets will connect with us even more deeply. The closer we allow them to be, the closer they will come. If we but open our hearts even more fully to them, they will meet us every paw step of the way.

Where I live the animals are sooo much cooler than most the people. It’s like they are human souls or personalities that are in an animals body. When I am having a difficult time they are right there being my friend looking in my eyes trying to know show me things are ok. They don’t turn their back or ignore me and hurt my feelings. They are such blessings and I am very grateful to have them.

Love this articial. It’s so true I witness my own dog (Small) doing some of the things you mentioned in the articial. He always was watching over me and I’m sure he still is. Even when the vet told me I had to make a decission by the weekend to have him put down, he knew I was having a hard time with it so he went to the rainbow bridge while laying next to me Gave me a lick and passed away peacefully I hear him here in my home checking on me and making sure I’m ok

I have had the honor to have cats as my family members all my adult life .
Feral one,s have trusted me and become kin to me , slept at the bottom of my bed and even protected me .
My oldest cat , a female of 19 yr,s gave me what most people automatically hold back by instinct , and that is ( in this order, ” trust , love , companionship , humor , life lessons , and at last , her last breath as i held her in my arms when she was ready to go to the other dimension….and really ,
not gone as i often feel her around me and the other night the bed shook as i felt her jump up onto it , i know her vibration so i also know when she is around me wanting to say, Hello Mom. Treasure all animals…even one,s you don,t understand for all are worthy , and tha,s why they are here with us . Blessings . x
