Speak Up With Throat Chakra Gemstones

Discover Your True Voice!

Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your voice out of shyness, feeling you don’t have the right to speak up or you don’t have anything worthwhile to say? Do you tend to hide your true thoughts to be more socially acceptable? Or maybe you always have good intentions, but have difficulty following through on promises you make? Fortunately none of these qualities are set in stone, and change is always possible when you explore an issue with the power of your conscious awareness.

The throat chakra is related to the voice and to our projection that we put forth in the world. Accessing your true voice doesn’t mean to just say anything that pops in your head for the sake of avoiding silence or because you think it’s what people want to hear. The throat chakra connects you to your authentic feelings and insights, and helps you release any fears associated with sharing them.

Certain gemstones align very well with the throat chakra and help with accessing truthfulness. You can become true to yourself by being honest and willing to share who you actually are with others. If you wish to become more “impeccable with your word,” as described in the classic book The Four Agreements, working on your throat chakra and using some of the gemstones suggested below can help you access your real voice and inner truth. Try wearing some of these gemstones close to your neck for a real boost to the throat chakra.

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis lazuli is a deep royal blue with flecks of gold. This highly spiritual stone was favored through the centuries by royalty, priests, philosophers, and artists. It enhances the ability to speak without fear. It helps you access your personal truth and become an authentic individual. It also encourages balance, sincerity and honesty in friendship, and emotional healing.

Aquamarine

This light, clear, blue-green gemstone reflects the colors of the sky and sea. But don’t be misled by its light, soft color—it is known as the “stone of courage.” It protects from gossip, soothes fears, and evokes peace, serenity, and creativity. Aquamarine brings out the strength needed to be accountable for yourself and your words.

Amethyst

Though the throat chakra is traditionally associated with the color blue, not all crystals that resonate with this chakra need be blue. The violet-toned amethyst assists in self-knowledge, truth, discernment, and the ability to take responsibility for our own needs. Amethyst can help you feel comfortable sharing your voice because it balances the inner and outer life. It attunes you to wisdom and a higher spiritual state, and energizes your voice. Because amethyst is also associated with the heart chakra, wearing an amethyst necklace midway between the throat and heart can help you achieve balance between your feelings and your words.

Turquoise

Turquoise is considered a sacred stone across many cultures. This blue-green gemstone transmits negativity into positivity and purifies areas of the body that it’s worn around. This gemstone stimulates and balances the throat chakra and encourages self-acceptance. Turquoise brings healing and helps you communicate with clarity and compassion.

Famed vocal teacher Kristin Linklater said that “The exploration of one’s own voice is the search for the ring of truth, something natural and real that began with vital authenticity in the first breath and the first cry.” Discover the possibilities that arise when you tap in to your own unique “vital authenticity” and share it with the world.

How timely! I just discovered how blocked/weak many of my chakras are (I’m new to this), and the throat is a biggy for me. I will certainly seek out Lapis Lazuli and Amethyst. Thank you for this article.

It just showed up out of nowhere, tucked away in a little old notecard box, that I had not looked inside for all of those years- Well, I finall did-It was a pleasant surprise. And now I read this. Thanks! Miss Krystal
