‘Valentine’s Day’ Astrology

Just in time for the holiday comes the aptly titled movie Valentine’s Day (subtitle: “a day in the life of love.”) The American answer to the British hit Love Actually (2003), Valentine’s Day is jam-packed with famous faces of the big and small screen, and if the trailer is any indicator, it’s sure to melt some hearts.

However you feel about the film, one thing’s for certain — assembling such a stellar cast was quite a feat, a fact acknowledged by producer Wayne Rice on the film’s website.

“In order for any film to get made, the planets have to align,” Rice says. “Certainly a lot of planets aligned for us to make this movie with such a remarkable roster of talent.”

On that note, let’s have a look at the astrology of its stars. You may be surprised to learn about some interesting coincidences.

Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel
Jessicas Alba and Biel are two of the hottest actresses of their generation — and both can be seen in Valentine’s Day.

Born on April 28, 1981, Alba is an Earthy Taurus whose Aquarius Moon makes her imaginative, creative, and caring. Add her spunky Leo Ascendant for a little fiery spark and voila! Exotic, girl-next-door appeal explained.

Meanwhile, Pisces Jessica Biel brings sultry sexiness to every role she takes on. Born on March 3, 1982, Biel’s Gemini Moon belies innate intelligence, which is often missed because of her stunning beauty. Venus in Aquarius makes her a free thinker when it comes to love.

Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey
The Grey’s Anatomy guys known as McSteamy and McDreamy both take a turn in this romantic comedy, and their Sun Signs alone explain their different sorts of appeal …

Steamy, studly Eric Dane was born on November 9, 1972, and his Moon in adventurous Sagittarius only strengthens his Sun in Scorpio sexiness by imbuing it with rugged enthusiasm. Add masculine Mars and romantic Venus in lovable Libra and who can resist his charms?

Dreamy, darling Patrick Dempsey, on the other hand, is heavily ruled by Earth and Air, starting with his Capricorn Sun Sign and Libra Moon. Born on January 13, 1966, the actor also has both Venus and Mars in eccentric Aquarius (like Jessica Biel), making him unconventional, romantically and sexually!

Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift
The Taylors (as they were so cutely known during the brief time these young lovers were believed to be dating), met on the set of Valentine’s Day … Let’s just hope their on screen romance fares better than their real-life relationship!

Teen heartthrob Lautner boasts Sun in Aquarius, making him as kind as his sweet face belies. Born on February 11, 1992, this loveable (yet lust-worthy) boy next door gets his approachability courtesy of a chart steeped in Earth Signs. Not only does he have a gracious (and loving) Taurus Moon, but both Mars and Venus are in sensual Capricorn.

Swift on the other hand is gifted with fiery chutzpah — her Sagittarian Sun granting her a spirit of adventure, complemented by a soulful Cancer Moon. Born on December 13, 1989, her Venus (like Dempsey and Biel) is also in Aquarius (this could be a pattern here!) and her Mars is in scorching hot Scorpio, signaling that she may have been too much for the other Taylor to handle!

Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts
The Pretty Woman herself appears in Valentine’s Day — the two films share the same director in Scorpio, Garry Marshall — this time alongside her niece (brother Eric’s daughter), Emma.

Born on October 28, 1967, Julia Roberts displays all the unique qualities that her Scorpio Sun, Leo Moon and Cancer Rising combo would imply. Sexy, strong, and ambitious, she still remains grounded enough to be America’s sweetheart, courtesy of her Earthy love and sex signs. Julia has Venus in unassuming Virgo and low-key Capricorn Mars.

Niece Emma came into the world on February 10, 1991, and the likeness to her famous aunt is undeniable. Her stars, however (starting with Sun in Aquarius) indicate that Emma walks to her own drummer. Add her practical, determined Capricorn Moon and it seems destined … stardom may run in the family!
