Psychic Guadalupe’s Picks:

1. A Journey of Awakening: A Meditator’s Guidebook by Ram Dass

This is a beautiful guidebook to meditation written by an American psychologist and spiritual teacher from the Buddhist philosophy. The book goes over many different forms of meditation and assists readers with finding the right method for them. It manages to be approachable, inspirational, and extremely informative.

This book introduced me to Rumi, the great Sufi mystic, and poet. It gave me the inspiration to keep going through a dark period of my life. And, most of all, it taught me to meditate, which changed my life immensely! This book taught me that all I ever needed was truly inside of me. Much of what I learned from this book I still implement today as part of my spiritual and mental foundation. The techniques I gleaned from this book have certainly stuck with me for over 15 years.

2. Working With Spirit Guides by Ruth White

Ruth White describes her life growing up with a very present spirit guide. She also shares with the reader what she has learned about spirit guides, including how to develop relationships with them and how they can help you through life’s challenges.

My favorite parts of this book are the meditations and mental exercises which are provided by the author. Some of these exercises are based on shamanistic techniques for dream work and journeys. I use these mental exercises and meditations when I feel the need to reconnect to Spirit or to ground myself in my spiritual connection. They are presented in a way that is very easy to understand and are enveloped in a larger body of wisdom.

3. You are Psychic! The Free Soul Method by Pete A. Sanders, Jr.

This is a fascinating book which explores the different types of psychic gifts—some of which have not been recognized until recent times. It presupposes that everyone is psychic in some way and you can explore your psychic gifts by developing and understanding them.

I have used the exercises in this book to help me better understand the different types of psychic abilities I have. The exercises also help me control and deepen my gifts. It is an amazing experience to see that when you work on one or two aspects of your psychic or spiritual development, others begin to naturally develop too! This book is immensely helpful because it gives practical information and pointers that help you tune into yourself and notice the subtle ways you are receiving psychic information about the world around you. Sometimes it is only a matter of paying attention!

4. Opening to Channel: How to Connect With Your Guide by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer

This is a very interesting book with a unique perspective written by a couple who have made it their purpose in life to teach others to channel spirit guides. It is filled with tips, techniques, and exercises for learning to channel and developing that skill.

This book has been instrumental in helping me understand the different types of spirit guides that communicate with me and I’ve learned how to better work with those spirit guides. It has been extremely helpful in understanding what spirit guides are, where they come from, and how to manage a relationship with them.

Psychic Blu’s Picks:

1. In the Meantime by Iyanla VanZant

I love this book because it makes you look at your life like it’s a house that you need to restore, and she looks at it from the time of birth to who you become later. It really makes you face the choices you make and asks you if the choices you have made are based on what others wanted you to do, or what you wanted to do. The lesson here is that your light doesn’t shine until you rebuild your own foundation spiritually, because none of us were born in perfect homes, and sometimes even those closest to us can be toxic. We must face how much of an impact we will allow that to have on our lives.

Who are you really living for right now? When you don’t know what else to do, what do you do in the meantime? Are you at least brainstorming your next steps? Are you taking care of your spiritual business? The book asks all these great questions that we need to ask ourselves.

2. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

Even if you only follow the first agreement, which is, “Be impeccable with your word,” it will change your life. So many times we don’t say what we mean and end up in so many horrible situations because of it. The moment you start being honest about everything is the moment you feel spiritually lighter and your life feels lighter too. The people who will not be able to handle that honesty will leave you alone and the people who stay with you are your true people. Don’t be rude. Be honest. Honesty is always best.

3. Mindsight: Near-Death and Out-of-Body Experiences in the Blind by Kenneth Ring and Sharon Cooper

What I love about this book is that it allows you to see from a scientific point of view that Spirit is real. So many times people don’t believe anything until it’s printed by someone reputable, and a lot of people don’t believe anything is reputable until science is involved. So, for those who need to have some logic with your Spirit, this is a great read.

4. Embraced by the Light by Betty J. Eadie

This book is about one of the author’s near-death experiences in which she has a conversation with God. They spoke about her getting closer to her spirit and she asks about the message He wants her to share with the world. She learns about the power of prayer and realizes that every prayer is a light out in the Universe. She also learns that there is no stronger prayer than that of a mother for her child, and she learns that the people she judges are just as much a blessing as everyone else. Her book teaches that we are all here for a purpose, and that is to teach the world love and compassion. Love and compassion help our spirits grow. This is certainly a beautiful book.

Great suggestions. Some I’ve read, but would read again, and I look forward to checking out others you suggested. Of the ones I’ve read “The Four Agreements” was my favorite.
