How Real is the Law of Attraction?

Today our Psychic Red tackled the question of The Law of Attraction in her column Red Responds.

For those who don’t know, the basic idea is that positive thinking and projection of thoughts can help you manifest the things you want in life.

But what do you think? Is it real?

    Hi Becky,
I came across a quote that I thought was apropos to what you posted.
“Manifesting isn’t about making a halfhearted effort and then failing. Manifesting is about aligning your goals and your destiny so they become one. You have to believe without a doubt and act without pause, or else you’re wasting your time. …Once you’re honest with yourself, you’re halfway there.”
I also liked what you said…be careful what you wish for. You just might get it!! LOL!!
    Have a nice day,
    Fran

I believe in “Manifesting” to the fullest. Everything is energy, including your thoughts. You must let go of the what if’s and the fears. Just put your thoughts out there. See what you want to happen. Our thoughts create our lives. One thing that needs to be understood, everyone has feel will. You cannot manipulate someone else’s life. Their thoughts, feelings or choices. You can’t force someone to do something they don’t want to do. You cannot force someone to be with you. When manifesting, do it with your heart. You must truly believe in what you put out there. Be clear in what you want. What is your heart desire. What do you truly want? Just be careful what you wish for. The Universe hears, feels and sees all. 😉

Verbena, your comment is so interesting for thought. (love the Ursula LeGuin reference too made me want to pick up that series again).
Read a book by Leonard Shlain called “The Alphabet versus the Goddess, the conflict between word and image” where he proposes that the rise of the alphabet and written literacy (left brain/ego/conscious) actually changed the human brain and society became driven by ego and began the reign of patriarchy as a result.
Where pre-alphabet cultures were holistic and worshipped the goddess and imagery (right brain/spirit/subconscious), everything was more visual.
But I’m wondering with this amazing blend we now have today if combining understanding of subconscious and visualization with written intentions and verbal affirmations is ultimately the most powerful? the balance of God and Goddess? Are we using the Ego for a greater purpose in this process?

Over the last few months I dream frequently about the man in question in my life. And strangely (or maybe not lol) it seems the dreams have mirrored the journey that Angel and Randall (and others) have seen in readings. My relationship in my dreams has evolved from dreams that have his friends pushing me away and me crying and running after him to more evolved confirming dreams (in one an old high school boyfriend / best friend confirmed to him that I did yes in fact love him) We always end up together in the end of the dreams but the early ones had so much pain and suffering in the process.
Last night I had a dream about him again and he showed up passed out on my couch after going out with friends (my house is kind of a crash pad for my son and his surfer friends too so its not uncommon to walk downstairs and see someone sleeping on the couch) and in the dream I’m happy to see him and am nurturing and caring. It flowed in and out like he lived here or at least spent alot of time here which is a huge change. Things were still awkward between us a bit and the dream ended with me in his arms asking if we could go on a date this weekend. He looked in my eyes searchingly saw confirmation of love and trust and said yeah. We hugged and I woke shortly after. It was very very real it took me a minute after I woke to get my bearings…
What do you think? Is that evolution along the lines of what you are saying here? Or is it just my subconscious processing? or is that one and the same?

Thanks Miss Krystal at ext. 9192 for your comment on my comment. .lol
As for you Phillip at ext. 9485, I agree that the left brain mostly controls our EGO and thus, our survival. Thanks for your input to my comment.

I have to agree with you completely. Although I have never read with you, I have read with many, but I keep coming back to a specific few whom I feel extremely close to, and whom I feel understand me without prejudice or without making any judgments. And what’s amazing is that these five fabulous individuals (Gina Rose, Jacqueline, Phillip, Liam & Paige) have pretty much told me the same thing, even so far as using the same terminology (despite the timing always being a little off . . . LOL!) I truly believe that what some might call “coincidences” are in fact an orchestration of events, and I’m a player in this beautiful symphony. I know that I was led to my “Fab Five” and I feel blessed in having done so.

I once read a book entitled”The Causal Body”. A picture is worth a thousand words. This was the picture regarding reincarnation. E=The higher self that only intervenes when something critical is occuring. e=our individual incarnations.

Hello Red, Very interesting topic, I have enjoyed reading and studying with Ester and Jerry Hicks, I find there message to be positive and achievable, as far as manifesting and the effect Karma has on our life and the decisions being made, my opinion is….In order for us to manifest what it is we want in our life we have to be in a good place, a place of allowing, through this energy, it automatically takes one to a healthy, happier, place, the more we stay in this healthy happy place the more our manifesting is apt to be fulfilled, which therefor the happiness count acts the anger which defuses those feeling and emotions, stops that negative energy from coming in, so that when a Karmic issue arises, because we are in this healthy, space, state of mind, the Karmic issues just moves through with little if not no real damaging or long lasting effects.

What I do like about the Abraham material is that she kept it so simple. Like attracts like, vibrationally. Is this why, as Josepha stated, that the right people are sent to the right psychic? I think we are all in agreement here that all is vibration. All thoughts, feelings and actions influence our vibrational frequency, from moment to moment. “Control the mind, and you control your emotions. Control your emotions, and you control your habits. Control your habits, and you control your character. Control your character, and you control your destiny.” I personally believe that the conscious mind is a function of the left hemisphere of the brain, and therefore falls under the direction of the individualized EGO, the function of which is solely to protect the organism.

    Greetings fellow Psychics,.
in regards to Manifestation,.Has anyone seen that crop circle? (my favorite)..
Id like to add how very, very, specific we must be when using this power.Every detail should be worked out once you allow the feeling of the goal acheived to begin the manifestation. There must be 100% no fear allowed to interfere.Id also like to add how important patience and trust are once the manifestation begins.(:

    Hi Phillip,
When I crossed over the second time, I was shown by my Guides, that BEFORE I had been born into this incarnation, I had chosen specific obstacles in this lifetime, because there were specific spiritual lessons in this incarnation that I needed to learn before I could ascend to the next highest plane.
The ” puzzle ” , to borrow your expression, for me, is more like …each piece of the puzzle is an incarnation, and as I move forward from incarnation to incarnation learning the life lessons I need to learn, the pieces lock together…until a final picture is formed of ALL the incarnations making a total picture of ALL of my past lives combined.
When I have learned on the earthly plane, everything I need to learn,
****** from the sum of ALL of my incarnations ( the puzzle wil be completed)******…. and I will , my soul will, be allowed to stay on the spiritual plane.
Life is like a maze, it’s not really win or lose…it’s what is learned by naivigating the maze, filled with life’s obstacles .
    Some obstacles are
    pre-destined….others are self created.
Thought is energy, whether it is telepathic, telekenetic, or merely a catalyst to spur on action.
    I agree with you that
    “intention =results”.
Dreams are thought-energy as well….sometimes our Guides, will come in thru the ” back door “, while we are at rest, and brush against the sub-concious mind to plant the seeds in dreams upon which we act.

I will work on it. I just felt something here that is very important to me. This feels like home. I am so blessed to be here. I have not felt such for nearly 25 years. I worked in a drug rehab and actually found myself in a yoga class with the residents and staff. It felt like I died and went to heaven. I am beginning to feel this here and now. I am grateful. I will attempt to address the karmic piece and my understanding of it through astrology Verbena. I am on it. My best regards to you!

I believe that there is a good reason why a client is talking to a particular psychic at a specific time. It has to do with a message that the psychic needs to deliver to that client. I also think that the client is a mirror to that psychic, to look at something in the psychic’s life that they can improve on or learn from. Therefore. That is why some people feel more connected to a particular adviser then another, and vise vs. . I feel that the reading is a two-way connection. That has nothing to do with any prejudices whatsoever. I know I have no prejudices and I’m sure it’s true for most of my colleagues on this line. We love and accept our clients just the way you all are.

Acomment to Red’s Law of Attraction. In my opinion besides staying positive and adding more charge to our feelings, we need to be aware of what programms are running in our subconsious. Our consious mind, that “chooses” what we want only operates 1-5% of the day. The rest of the time we are run by programms that we got in our childhood and along the way that we might not be aware of. SO if we want to create abundance and we focus on it and take the right steps towards it, however we have this programm that says “money is evil” we will not go there. As much focusing and feeling we will put there we will not allow ourselves to be “evil”.
Hence, my suggestion is look at what is not working in your life and examine your belief system. Reprogramm it. We as psychics can help discover your beliefs.

From Verbina, ” I’ve discovered that, at least in my life, I even have a choice about about how — and if — I experience karma or karmic debts.” I absolutely agree with this statement. Some may view karmic law as punishment, reward, but these are human perspectives. Sooner or later it all comes down to “transmuting our vibration to a higher, finer level. This renders intention and motivation for reacting as we do to a particular experience as extremely important. I have had my issues with the utilization of astrology as an avoidance resource rather than one of understanding. Once a person is aware of the forces at work, we can choose to get out of our own way.

    Hi Red,
Well….we are all spiritual beings on the earthly plane,( only when we cross over are we truly ” home” or BACK IN our natural element….
We are made up of spiritual,AND electrical energy. We all have electrical energy fields surrounding us…..these fields can be actually, physically, seen using kirlian photography, or by psychics who can see the “aura”.
Yes, thought is energy….there are many ways that ” thought energy ” can manifest itself..
Scientifically speaking….one way is telepathy…..another way is telekenis…..
The Laws of Manifestation follow the theory that thoughts also serve as catalysts for actions,( hence visualization) ….there is usually thought before action.
You usually become what you think you will become.
Energy multiplies like rabbits…..positive AND negative both. The choice is yours….

I definitely think there is a direct relationship between how we think and feel and what we project to others. For so many it is unconscious and many negative thoughts and attitudes are projected and that is why they continually find themselves attracting turmoil or negative situations. It is like an electrical current, not visible but there and positively or negatively charged. Sometimes all it takes is someone becoming aware of the power behind their thoughts in order for it to make an impact or change in their outlook and life in general.

Yes and no. Simply asking/wishing/thinking about what you want isn’t enough. The desired thought must be REALLY POWERFUL!
Once that thought generates enough electricity (thoughts are energy in its purest form), then we go to step 2. Dr. Joe Vitale calls it, “The Law of Right Action.” John Assaraf calls it G.O.Y.A. (get off your a..) — eResumes4Vips

I used to have an ongoing debate with a girlfriend about this subject. She was a a follower of the Esther Hicks “Abraham” channelings on deliberate creation. She believed that we we can have anything that we set our minds on. I kept asking her, “What about karma?” As a clinical hypnotist, I am very aware of the power of the subconscious mind to “short circuit” our conscious intentions. this is one factor, karma is another. I view my life as a huge jigsaw puzzle, with all the pieces firmly in place. The pieces can not be altered. But, once those pieces are lived and experienced, they can be removed. Now we have those spaces that represent true freedom and power. These spaces are where anything is possible. The difference between an average individual and a spiritually gifted one is that the latter has removed many of these “Karmic” pieces in other lives, thereby coming into the present incarnation with much more maneuvering ability. An astrological natal chart reveals this past history. I have to add that there is also the theory that what we believe is what we get and even karmic theory represents a “construct”, an information packet, though huge and well supported by many for thousands of years, may also just be a human mental creation that keeps us returning on the wheel of life. The final lesson here could very well be, “Intention=results”.
