A Spirit Crosses Over

It was not long after we moved into our new house that my husband and I realized there was a ghost in our basement. They don’t bother me, but my husband is scared of ghosts. Sometimes when he would go downstairs, a man would talk to him. It seemed like he wanted to make friends with another guy. The basement had been nicely renovated and we figured out pretty quickly that this guy was the one who had done it – the downstairs had been his hangout.

We sometimes used the recreation room in the basement as a spare room for guests. They were soon reporting that while sleeping down there, it seemed as though someone had walked through them. Because we did not have air conditioning, sometimes one or more of us would sleep down there on a hot summer night. Pretty soon, I was the only one who had the courage to do so. It didn’t bother me when the ghost walked through me.

Thinking back though, I think that I was a bit self-centered not to have considered that this guy needed help. One night, I had a bad dream about a family being hurt — I realized as soon as I awoke that it had to do with the ghost. I realized he needed help.

Mentally and emotionally, I talked to him. In order to communicate with souls who have passed on, all we really have to do is think and feel in their direction and then listen to how we feel in response. It is possible to communicate in this way. I helped him to overcome his regret. When I could sense that he was feeling better I then imagined bright sunlight breaking through a cover of dark clouds above him. The bright sunlight formed a kind of ladder for him to climb up to return to the spiritual realms of pure divine love. I felt him go. After this, no one felt him anymore and he stopped talking to my husband in the basement, much to his relief.

A couple of years went by. We gave a ride home to a teenage girl who was volunteering at our son’s school. We passed our house and she remarked that she used to live in our neighborhood. She asked us if we knew that we lived in the “suicide house.” The man who had originally owned the house had committed suicide in the garage when his wife left him for another man. We had known nothing about this, but told her about the ghost. His regret about hurting his family had kept him earthbound until I was able to help him find release.

Thanks, Fran! Thanks for your kind reply!!!

I changed jobs a while ago (as Miss Krystal and few others predicted!), and it has kept me incredibly busy. I wish I had more time to write…all I’ve been able to do is to think about it… 😉 The job is great, though, so I am happy to be busy!

I have missed being able to read and respond to all of the blog posts. Lately I’ve been finding a little bit of time to squeeze it in. Glad to know that I’ve been missed as much as I’ve missed this place.

    Hope you are well, too.

    Dear Lise,

What an incredible story!!! I remember you mentioning it a while ago in another blog, but I’m thrilled to read it again. I enjoyed it then and I thoroughly enjoyed it now! You are really gifted. This little girl must have sensed your energy…..so loving, beautiful, motherly…..and she was drawn to you. How beautiful that you were able to help that lovely little soul find her way “home.”

We don’t hear from you much anymore. How have you been? How’s your little girl? Hope we hear more from you soon, and on a regular basis. You’ve been missed.

    Hugs,
    Fran

Ive written about it a few times before, but it was in response to other articles. I dont remember how far the situation had progressed the last time I wrote about it. Ill have to look through my posts.

Yeah, I guess I should write an article about…just one more topic to work on! LOL!

    Cheers,

    Duckie 🙂

Thanks for sharing your story, Bridget! It’s great that you were able to help him. How sad that the poor man ended his life but still ended up trapped there, still suffering.

I really liked what you said about communicating with spirits–that we really only have to think and feel in their direction to do so. It’s hard for the living to understand, but spirits sometimes do reach out to the living for help. I have had that happen to me where I live.

I (think) I helped a little girl find her father and older brother so that she could leave the place where she died. She had lived in a house where my house is now, but she drowned in the creek behind the house over 50 years ago.

There were many times that I felt this sudden fear that and no idea why. I figured out that I wasn’t scared, but I was feeling her fear. Once I figured that out, I knew that she was trying to reach out to someone. At the time, my daughter was about the same age as this little girl was when she died. Thinking of my own daughter made me want to help her.

Whenever I felt her (usually at night), I would just think or say that it was ok to be with us. Each time the fear would almost instantly dissolve. She then started talking to me in dreams or waking me up at night, really trying hard to communicate. In one dream, my daughter came to me and said, ‘Look, mom. This is my new friend.’ There was nothing there to see, but this child’s voice saying ‘Hi! Hi! Hi!’. I would sometimes wake up at night because I was hearing ‘Mom! Mom!’ Thinking it was my daughter, I’d go check on her and find her sleeping.

After reading one story here on the blog about helping spirits crossover, I decided since she chose me to reach out to that I could possibly help her. Since her own death, her father and brother have passed. One night when I felt her presence, I told her to try to find them and she would be safe. I haven’t felt her since.

Although, I am still feeling other things in that place…some of it not nearly so sweet as a child. 😛

    Cheers,

    Duckie 🙂

Thanks, Brigette for this great article.
Do you think it is not good when a loved one has crossed over, and they are always around someone here on earth? As mediums and channel persons we all get similar and different stuff. We all have our own unique style. Each style is unique for sure.

I am not a ghost healer-I just know how to keep them in line and behave properly like Gina Rose said her granny used to do. I worked with a very well known paranormal expert, from the UK, and he did the release thing etc. Very interesting. It’s so interesting what each medium can see from their own observations.
You definintely have a special talent here.
    Very impressed. Thanks.

    Bridget,

Thank you for an excellent article and congratulations for helping your ghost “climb the ladder” to peace.

I’ve always felt that houses have and hold energy both positive and negative and hold imprints of great energy that have occurred within their walls. I always feel whether a house is a “happy” house or not, don’t you?

    Sincerely,
