Speak Up: Stop Looking for Life Lessons

See Life’s Lessons in Your Rear-View Mirror

Rumki from Dhaka asks:

I went through a very desolate childhood. My only relationship ended two months ago. I am going through emotional pain and physical sickness. I try to find out the lesson offered by this broken relationship but cant find any. Can you please tell me what to do? I am feeling so overwhelmed with stress and depression. Can you please show a ray of hope for the future? Thanks.

Dear Rumki,

Sometimes when we’re looking for the lesson, we won’t be able to find it. It’s like looking at the proverbial needle in the haystack. Lessons are always learned once we have put a certain distance between the situation and ourselves, and can look at it subjectively. Hence, please stop obsessing over what went wrong. Instead, try to figure out what makes you happy in life. Try remembering what makes you smile and what motivates you in life.

I find meditation a great way to look deep within for whatever it is I may have to learn about myself at the moment. Also, when things go wrong for me, I hold on to all the things that really mean the world to me; namely the things that do not require an outside source. Also, things that I have control over and things that I can actively make happen. For me these things include, besides meditating, doing yoga, taking a bike ride to the beach, taking a walk, talking to a friend, writing, reading and whatever else comes to mind. It’s sometimes difficult to get the energy to do anything when one is depressed, but it’s possible to get the courage to do something, if you put a little willpower in. Also, if the depression gets too hard to handle, do not hesitate to see a professional. There is no shame in asking for help!

I would highly suggest that you find what makes you happy, period. Do not put all of your stock in any one person, as people are not perfect and at times, will fail you. When you make all your happiness dependent on another, you will only get disappointed. And it is never fair to expect someone else to be solely responsible for your feelings or self-worth.

“For each and every dream we have in our heart, we have to be 100 percent honest with ourselves that we are ready to accept it into our life.” – Psychic Claire ext. 5242

Know that no matter how sad the situation may seem right now, things always do get better. Time truly does heal all wounds and what goes down, will always come back up again. You can’t go back in time to change the past. You can, however, determine how your future is supposed to look and take the necessary steps to make it happen. Life, in the end, always has a way of balancing itself out again, so keep reminding yourself that, “This, too, shall pass.” Good luck, my friend, and chin up.

“It’s not about making someone else happy or them making you happy. You have to be satisfied and happy with yourself and your own life – you have to feel whole. When you feel whole you will automatically put out the type of energy which will also attract a person that they themselves are whole. Thus, two wholes can come together and form a greater whole – this is far more powerful than two parts trying to make but a single whole.” – Hayden ext. 5424

Don’t let life pass you by. Its too painful to hash through the wreckage of a lost relationship. And your just too close to it right now to feel anything but heartache as you sift through the remains of what was. Instead, take some time to prepare for the future. What would your perfect life look like if you could magically create it. Visualize that soulmate who would love to be your true love and wouldn’t dream of letting you down. Imagine all those places you would visit together. Don’t forget all that romantic connection between the sheets. You are beautiful and deserving of the most amazing relationship on the planet! Now that you know where you want to go, develop a game plan that allows you the best opportunity to reach out and meet the proverbial mister right

    Hi Carmen,

Loved how you expressed that…..many of my students are always looking for signs and easy answers to life…..instead of just living it !!!!!! I believe you learn by doing, and by life experience. Which is why we are all down here…..to learn and grow.
We all make mistakes, such is life,….but the key is to LEARN from those mistakes and not to repeat the SAME mistakes over and over.

Great response, Carmin !!!!! Hope you are doing well.

    Blessed Be )O(
