Embracing Mindfulness to Fully Embrace Life

This morning, while driving down a two lane road, flanked by 300 feet high Douglas fir trees, a thick fog limited my vision, and I had this sensation of being other dimensional and not of this plane. Suddenly, my driving became a cognitive process and I put my thoughts of other realms aside and focused on arriving safely at my destination for today. I wish to share with you how to develop and practice a routine of daily mindfulness and intuitive heart.

Mindfulness is the art of bringing your awareness to the present moment. It is the ability to focus on the here and now and being able to control or stop the incessant chatter in your head, allowing you to focus and become aware of your present state.

Intuitive heart is the method of developing, understanding and using intuition in your daily life, based on the work of Dr. Henry Reed.

Today I’m going to provide you with a quick and easy way to develop your own practice of mindfulness and intuitive heart.
Firstly, let’s begin by turning off all the distracting devices around you and finding a quiet place where you can sit/lay comfortably without external or internal distractions for the next fifteen to twenty minutes.

Close your eyes and relax. Picture in your mind’s eye a silver cord that runs through your spine, connecting you to the stars and the infinite universe. Picture a golden beam of sunshine coming into your forehead. Now visualize this ray of light as it runs through your body and then up again, in and around your heart. Next, focus on your breathing. Your breathing is natural, and there’s nothing that you need to do with it. Begin to notice how your breathing flows in and out through your nose, through your body and that you don’t have to do a thing. Your body has a natural intelligence. It knows just what to do and it knows what it needs. Witness how relaxed your body becomes and follow the flow of the air. Recognize this is how you breath when you are sleeping. Right now, you are awake and whenever you wish to relax, all you have to do is say the word, relax, and your body will be as relaxed as it is now. Bring the air through your body and as it goes to your heart, imagine the air and the energy flowing, and circling your heart.

Now, bring your awareness to your heart area and notice how your heart feels with each breath that generously comes to your body . Imagine your heart expanding and sending out love and gratitude to everyone, especially yourself. Take a few moments to visualize your heart expanding with love and compassion. It is now time to listen to the important message your heart has to share.

Take the time now to allow a message to come to you. You will receive a message from your higher self. You will recognize this message as your truth. Listen to this message, accept this message and then thank life force for taking care of you and for loving you and your body. You may now thank your breath for flowing through you , for loving you and for providing you with the gift of life.

You can now bring yourself back to your conscious awareness. You might want to wiggle your fingers and your toes and slowly open your eyes. You will have noticed that there is no judgement in this space of pure love and light energy. You may have noticed that there is no stress and no worry. You have just tapped into the collective and universal consciousness of source energy. We are all one. There is no difference any longer between old and young, abilities or disabilities. All we are is pure love and pure energy and you have just been able to tap into that higher consciousness through mindfulness and intuitive heart.

With a consistent practice of mindfulness and intuitive heart you will soon be able to tap into your own higher self and begin to develop and trust your own intuition. Your body and your higher self will thank you for it.

    Indeed it is hard to stop all the chatter in your head as you constantly worry and think about many things. To be able to totaly focus the mind to one thing and be completlyaware of your surroundings. At least for me, a very difficult thing to do. I can just imagine the gain to be had if one mastered this.

    I agree with you completely, Marc. I’ve been teaching this to young children and their parents for a few years now. I also wish to get the word out . I wish that everyone would have the opportunity to create a space of mindfulness for themselves in their lives .

    I tend to find a good glass of red wine and a funny film works wonders!!! BUT on a more serious note, I think something like this needs to be taught on a class basis rather than by reading about it!

    I have taught this to my students for many years now…..I do something very similiar when I go into deep meditation using hypnotherapy.
