Master Your Path

I like to believe that we’re masters of our own destiny, ultimately responsible for every decision we make in life. I don’t think there’s really such a thing as a victim, or that our stories are pre-determined. What it comes down to is that there are two types of people: those who wait for their “future” to happen to them, and those who make their “future” happen for them.

Our upbringings affect our decision making skills and shape who we are, but at the same time, it’s our decisions that dictate how we live and where we end up. Life is truly a huge web of decisions and opportunities. People that allow their past and upbringing to dictate their life are people who are always waiting around for things to happen to them, and who end up missing opportunity after opportunity. People that go out and make their own outcomes are dynamic, constantly changing and adapting to a growing society. While one could argue that this is due to a strong upbringing, it is also due to a choice – the choice to not settle for anything less than fulfilling their goals and being happy.

We can all be what we want to be, do what we want to do and achieve happiness. Being happy is the most important goal in life. As we grow and navigate the bumpy roller-coaster called life, we find that what ultimately makes us happy is often something we didn’t see at the beginning. Happiness is realizing what our purpose is, and what we want to contribute to society and the universe. The best contribution we can make is doing what we’re passionate about, because that’s something organic, something that will inspire others and make them happy.

We live in an imperfect world, and some get better starts than others – but where we ultimately end up is up to us. Letting anything dictate our life is a detriment to us, and succumbing to these pressures only hinders us and puts self-created obstacles on our path. We can’t change where we come from, but we can always change our path and where we end up.

What do you think – do we make our paths, or are they given to us?

all action(s) create a probable future. It is this future that, as a Psychic, is revealed in my visions. All furtures can be changed by acts of free will. This is the power that a good Psychic Reading can give you. Nigel Ext 5311

You are absolutely right! I waited around for ‘opportunities’ to be offered to me and finally gained more confidence to follow my ‘passion’ without anyone else directing me, but ME. I had to come to a point in my life that that it didn’t matter what other people thought I could or couldn’t do, and just do what I wanted. I also realized that I needed to ‘learn’ and train toward my goals.
I want to help people using my passion for children, for Asperger awareness, along with empowering women of domestic abuse (all of which I have first hand experiences with). I started off reading every book I could find. Went on to writting and blogging to reach people. Now I am taking every seminar, class and training I can find locally to learn to be a presentor and to let other people see my passion and experience.
Last week, at a training seminar of giving children and youth more ‘assets’ in their lives, I was asked to be an advocate for children in our area. I know this will be challenging at times; but I have insight and personal stories that will at least help others to see both sides of a situation. That alone, will make a possitive difference in the lives of these children. I am very excited about this opportunity.

Great article & advice! Thank you for sharing!

    Hi,
Yes…..we have the ability, moment to moment, to create our own destiny. We all have the ability to shape and mold ourselves as we travel our Karmic path.

I absolutely agree with you! No, our paths are not given to us. We are all given infinite possibility and chances to learn our lessons and “do it right.” It doesn’t matter if we grew up in bad environment, as long as we don’t let it affect us.

There is a huge difference between victims and winners. Victims tend to seek out exterior sources to fill their inner emptiness or lack of self-worth, while winners work from the inside out. Those who actively embark on their own, carved out path, are those who first look at themselves instead of pointing fingers. There is an energy about these people, just as you said it.

The beauty about changing one’s path though is simply that it’s never too late. Every day is a new day and a clean slate 🙂
