Blessings Come in All Forms

I bought a used car recently. This car is beautiful, luxurious and comfortable as well as a representation of the abundance I see in my future. My family is blended with two girls from my previous marriage. Every other year we make a 1,000 mile round trip to meet their father at the halfway point for Christmas. There are several mountain passes and treacherous weather which make driving conditions exciting to say the least. 130 miles into the trip at 6am we started to have car trouble and by car trouble I mean we couldn’t put it in reverse. We took it in stride and continued on cautiously but my husband and I gave each other the look of knowing this trip will not be what we expected. The dashboard told us that the transmission was overheated. We got to the bottom of the pass into a very small town, added some transmission fluid and the warning message was silenced and we were off! Phew! That tragedy was averted until…the car completely shut down 20 feet later and wouldn’t restart.

I bought the vehicle 9 days ago from a local businessman who is not your stereo-typical used car salesman just like I am not your stereo-typical psychic as people often think I am joking when I tell them my profession. I needed to call Dave (not his real name) but before I did I was faced with some choices. Do I treat him like he sold me a P.O.S. disguised in metallic silver, with smells of gray leather and wood trim?? What could my children take away from this experience as a whole? Is he really that greasy salesman we all avoid, hiding behind “integrity” and a smile? I believe the choices you make today are deposits into your future. What was I going to deposit? I chose grace and compassion. Dave was very apologetic, arranged for a tow truck and shuttle to one of the nation’s largest car dealers. There were no rentals left in the area due to the holiday weekend. That large dealership was willing to let us rent their service shuttle so the girls can have Christmas with their dad! Dave even paid for the rental himself! A blue angel came and sat on the hood of our car for protection with his arms wrapped around his curled knees for the duration of our journey.

Please as you go through your holiday season, keep an open mind and love in your heart and expect the unexpected. Our 17 hour trip was extended to 23, there was not one complaint from a child OR parent! I believe the blue angel along with an attitude of thankfulness kept my mind right and reflexes fast that literally saved us from a devastating accident that happened right before our eyes! One last thing, I followed my intuition and bought the extended service plan that even covers transmissions!

Merry Christmas!

Hello Uriela – I like your take on Uriel, one of the major archangels. Your story rang true for many of us. Things happen that pose difficult and unexpected changes to our plans. But…for me, it’s how we respond to whatever change is now facing us. I also know that there are different degrees of difficuties. I once had a tire blow out on me, but it did right in front of my regular gas/mechanic station. It wasn’t lost on me how lucky I was, regardless of the minor inconvenience. In the end, this too shall pass. Stress only creates more stress. I have a friend who panics driving if she feels she’s lost, I say to her, you’re not lost. The place you’re going to is there, you just need to calm down. When I feel I’ve taken the wrong route, etc. I just stop and ask somebody somewhere and I always get to where I’m going. Her panic reaction can very easily cause a serious accident as she will stop the car where she is, not even find a safe place. However, she still has given her power over to the situation and remains a panic driven driver. With Grace and Compassion, the most difficult situations can be handled on a positive level. Peace Be! Uriela,
Thanks for a lovely story and very timely reminder that not only do things not only turn out as planned (letting go), but also approaching “challenges” with others in a loving and direct manner brings the best back in our direction.
    Happy Holidays,

    Hi Uriela,
Well I’m glad you and your family made it safely to your destination. Yes, driving in mountains, especially this time of year, can be hazardous. And worrying about being stranded on the side of a road or unfamiliar area with children is a nightmare too!
I have to say, that driving here in the mountains is when I most use my psychic abilities for my own benefit.
I reside up in the Ozark Mountains and you never know when coming around a twisting roller coaster two lane highway or back road when a deer, bear, coyote, stray cow or horse, sheep
( or lately large wild boars), will be standing in the middle of the road. Anything is possible here, LOL he he, as it is all rural and all farming.
I’m glad your blue angel was riding ” shotgun” on your hood !!!! LOL
Something to be grateful for, for sure!
    Happy holidays !
