The Secrets to Loving Yourself

Have a Love Relationship With Yourself

Being in a love relationship can give you a wonderful, uplifting feeling. Colors seem brighter, food tastes better, and you can hardly remember a time when you didn’t feel as happy. Relationships, however, love relationships especially, don’t necessarily have to be with a significant other; sometimes loving yourself is the greatest gift you can give and receive.

Single, married, dating, soccer mom, CEO or clerk, it matters not. Parent, child, teacher, student, everyone has someone depending on them. Getting that report done, picking someone up, dropping someone off, no matter how you spend your days, chances are you put yourself last on your “to do” list. It’s easy to do when so many people need you. With all you’re giving of yourself, how much are you giving to yourself?

1. Sow the Seeds

Think of yourself as a garden. If it’s been a long time since you’ve really put yourself first, start small, try new and different things or rediscover an old hobby. Painting, bird watching, reading a book, taking a bubble bath are all great ways to quiet the noise so you can hear your own voice again. Once relaxed, your mind has room to roam and help you figure out what makes your heart sing.

2. Cultivate Your Relationship

A day at a spa, or a weekend in Atlantic City can be fun, but having a love relationship with yourself is just that – a relationship. It doesn’t happen in a day or a week or a weekend, it’s developed and cultivated over time until it becomes a part of your very being. Each and every one of us not only deserves a healthy self-love, we require it to have a well-balanced life, leaving plenty of room for abundance.

3. Weeding Your Garden

Sometimes we have people in our lives that have gotten very used to us putting their needs first. Once they see you taking more charge of your own time, it could cause some uncomfortable moments, some growing pains. But if that friend is a real friend, they’ll learn to depend on themselves a little more and you a little less. Better yet, they’ll support your new relationship and respect it. You’ll quickly spot the difference between the flowers and the weeds. Weeds choke flowers and dominate the land, but only if you allow it. Those who can’t will wither away, and you’ll have one less weed in your garden to worry about, leaving you with a strong support system, healthy roots and a more grounded, less stressful life.

4. Attracting Abundance

When flowers are healthy and abundant, they invite other healthy elements into their world. Butterflies, ladybugs, earthworms, all join in sharing and support of the garden, making their own existence richer. Life flourishes. Most importantly, taking good care of yourself will allow the things you need and want in life to find you, including the love relationship of a lifetime.

I love this message I know that loving yourself is so important. Thank you for bring something like this out for me and others to read and understand that you have to love yourself first before you love someone else in live. This time I pray to GOD for a man that would believe in HIM and put his feelings first after the LORD then he could be there for me. Then we as a couple could really get to understand each other, without stress.
