Opening to Your Intuitive and Psychic Senses
I believe we all have a sixth sense. We are taught to use the five senses of vision, hearing, speech, touch and smell. We find it hard to believe, yet when someone is unable to see or hear they soon learn to “hear/see” with their sixth sense. This is documented, and widely accepted, so why is it so hard to believe that you already have a sixth sense?
When we are children, it is natural to mimic others around us to learn to clap our hands, eat and to talk. What if the people we grew up around didn’t speak? It makes it harder to figure out how exactly we “create” the ability to speak. We need exposure to learn, and we must take baby steps in learning each new sense, or talent. So why don’t people embrace being psychic?
Because it scares them.
We have a fear of anything that doesn’t fit into the limited “boxes” of explanation or definition. Also people seem to be afraid of the life force energy when it is disconnected from a physical body (Thank you, Hollywood!) So if a child says, “I saw Grandma last night,” and Grandma passed three years before, Mama, whom we trust, says, “Oh no you didn’t honey, that was just a dream.” We are not given any guidance to use our sixth sense, in fact, we are discouraged from an early age and taught to fear it.
Reclaim this ability! Journal your psychic/intuitive “thoughts” and then note where you felt it in your body, how you felt it, what was your health/body state, any taste, feelings, smells, sounds, etc… Validate what you can in order to get a better understanding of how you tune in. Psychic ability comes in as many flavors as there are languages to speak in this world… find yours, study it, understand it… and then use it.
1. Learn how to shield yourself before you leave your psychic self open and vulnerable. There are sources to find out about this—any psychic on California Psychics can share their method, and there are books and web pages out there with more options. (I use “white light.”)
2. Play the game of “Who is…”—use your sixth sense to guess who’s going to wear what color at work the next day, who is coming to a party, who is going to win the Oscar for best costume, etc…
3. Get tools that will help you explore it, like a Tarot deck, a pendulum, or any type of divination tool.
4. Find a mentor or class.
Some things to keep in mind: Avoid reading loved ones (It’s not only dangerous, it’s ethically wrong.), dark energy workers, Ouija boards, or anything that could cause harm. Until you develop a strong “protection” or “shield,” be careful what you take on. Remember that you must take baby steps and not try to start running immediately, or you will fall on your face!
