7 Obvious Ways to Balance Work and Love

A very normal and common problem in today’s society is learning how to balance your relationships and your work. Many of us work extremely hard and long hours and neglect the people we love in our lives.

Keeping Your Life Aligned

Work is inevitable, time-consuming, and, for some, quite meaningful. Love, on the other hand, is uncertain, it can consume as much or as little time as you want, and is incredibly important. For these reasons, it is essential to balance work and love in a healthy, thoughtful way. Here are some considerations for finding the ballast point for your career and love life. Do you struggle with keeping your loved one happy and getting your work done; if you do let us help you today.

1. Romantic Scheduling

Work, school, family, errands, and other commitments have a way of creeping up on us and taking over our free time. Since work has a set schedule to follow, it is important also to allot time to your personal relationships as well. Though it may not feel totally romantic to be scheduling dates, phone calls, vacations, and even intimacy, you will not regret the extra time you get to spend with that person because of your thoughtful preplanning. For example, my boyfriend and I agreed upon a schedule that works well for us: during the week, we talk on the phone every night before bed; one day of the week, he comes to my place, and I make a home-cooked meal; and, on the weekends, I pack a bag and spend Friday and Saturday night with him. However, I bring a book and my laptop, so we can be together for a whole weekend but also have a little space too. Our propinquity is scheduled, balanced, and meaningful.

2. Mixing Work and Pleasure

Do not mix work and pleasure unless it is totally appropriate. For example, my boyfriend was a guest speaker at my school. He came to tell the kids all about his career as a network engineer for a law firm. It’s not appropriate to just bring your significant other to work to hang out, but it is totally acceptable if they are contributing to your work’s progress in some way.

3. Talking Shop and Talking Love

Be careful not to talk about work too much, especially if you both work in the same field. And, if you can’t help sharing, make sure you stress positive news; otherwise, you risk complaining a little too much. Personally, I prefer to get in a relationship with a man who has a very different career from me so that we can learn new knowledge from each other, and share different experiences during our times together.

4. Traveling Matters

I don’t mean vacation traveling; I mean the daily driving to your significant other. Living very close can be great for more quality time, but it may lead to one person crowding the other one if not balanced. Conversely, living far away can give you much needed space but will also limit your quality time opportunities. No matter how far apart you live, come up with a healthy schedule in which you can see each other regularly for quality time.

5. Balancing Your Time Together

Whatever the distance, figure out how you can see each other enough during the week/month and still be successful at work, school, and your other commitments. When other parts of your life get negatively affected, it’s time to re-evaluate your quality time with your lover. Love should support work, and vice-versa. It is possible to have both!

6. Taking a Day Off

Every now and then, it’s good to take a break from work, from your relationship, or both. This “me-time” will allow you to refocus and set your priorities. With a little time off, you can think about what matters most to you and what you wish to accomplish, minus any pressure.

7. Consult a Psychic

Psychics have a keen sense of awareness and balance in our lives. Their feedback and guidance will lead you to valuable considerations and epiphanies about work and love that may help you achieve balance in your own life. When you are feeling unbalanced and overwhelmed (or well before you reach this point), consider calling a psychic for unbiased, informed input. You will be so glad that you took a little time to make a call that will benefit you for a lifetime!

If you don’t balance work and love, you could risk losing one or even both of them. We need work for income to support our physical bodies, and we need relationships to support our emotional spirits. To be happy and fulfilled, think about how to balance work and love in ways that work for you. I hope you consider these tips, which may improve your quality time with your lover.

Interesting article, but it appears these suggestions are specific to distant, casual and perhaps, not so long-term relationships rather than co-habitating relationships.
I wonder if the suggestions would be similar?

I think that common sense to a degree dictates balance, so long as people are willing to respect each others space and that also means making each other available when they can, plan your diary and always make time to show and act love, no one ever went to there death bed saying they should of worked harder! Communication and devotion.

I help many of my clients in their struggle to achieve balance between work and romance, for many, it is part of their Karma to learn ” balance ” in this incarnation.
