Your Daily Focus: January 25 – 31

Your Daily Focus: January 25-31 | California Psychics

Understanding Your Daily Focus

Unbelievably we are already at the last week of January, which is a good place to pause and review. How we are doing with moving ourselves towards achieving our goals or living up to our resolutions?

The ability to achieve goals and desires needs a mixture of passion, drive, and productivity, but sometimes life gets in the way and we find roadblocks and obstacles that pull our energy and focus in different directions.

This week’s daily focus will be looking at productivity and how to deal with the speed bumps that we may encounter on our way to manifesting the lives that we deserve and desire.

January 25

“Time is not refundable. Use it with intention.” Madi Parkinson

We all have the same 24 hours in a day, so why is it that some people seem to be able to achieve so much more than others? It comes down to using the time both wisely and with a set focus or intent. Minds wander, social media calls, even games on our phones or tablets can slowly steal away precious minutes and then we find ourselves down to the proverbial wire. Creating a schedule for our day can help, and we should weigh down time for ourselves in that schedule with the same importance as we do the tasks and errands we need to get done. Making sure that we can have free time can make it easier for us to use the rest of our time wisely. Today’s word is Organize.

January 26

“If there are nine rabbits on the ground, and you want to catch one, just focus on one.” Jack Ma

Trying to get too many things done at the same time is a great way to get nothing done at all. We all need to multi-task at times, but that shouldn’t be our default setting to getting things accomplished. When possible, we need to focus on one task at a time, complete it, and then move on. Then, if doubt starts to trickle in, we can look back and see the finished product and let that lend fresh burst of energy to keep plugging forward. Today’s phrase is Hone In.

January 27

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” Albert Einstein

Something else that can undermine our productivity is fear that if we try something new, we will fail, which then makes it hard for us to rally the energy to do anything. Mistakes aren’t fun but neither is staying stagnant wishing for a better life. Even in mistakes we learn and move ever slightly forward. Don’t let fear keep you trapped or unable to grow. Today’s word is Untried.

January 28

“Inhale the future, exhale the past.”

Taking a moment to step back from a project and taking a breath is just as important as pushing ourselves forward. Sometimes it is even more important. Allow the air coming into your lungs to rejuvenate and revive your intent and purpose, and the air going out to release blockages and fears. Breathing can have purpose and is an invaluable tool in our arsenal for helping us stay focused and gain perspective. Today’s word is Inhale.

January 29

“Focus on being productive instead of busy.” Tim Ferriss

There is definitely a difference between busy-work and being productive. Many times, our lives are filled with things that keep us busy and running around like chickens with their heads cut off, but none of that hurry contributes to our happiness or success. Now is the time to eliminate the busy and pull in more of the productive, affirming activities that not only push us forward, but are also meaningful to us and our lives. Today’s word is Constructive.

January 30

“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done” Bruce Lee

This has been me more times than I would care to admit. Thinking about a project or a decision to the point of absurdity has kept me from actively doing anything. It’s natural for us to analyze and try to figure out what obstacles we might face, but if we go round-and-round in our heads, we waste mental energy and chances are we won’t take the first steps. In 2020, let’s promise ourselves that although we will try to look at things objectively and think about choices we are about to make, we won’t allow ourselves to get stuck in a mental rut that prevents us from taking action. Today’s word is Active.

 January 31

“There is a virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” Alan Cohen

Balance is important, no matter what you are referring to. Getting stuff done, checking off our to-do lists, and hustling to and fro is important, but so is getting the rest that we need in order to be our best. Rest can mean everything from a good night’s sleep, to minimizing distractions, to spending time with people who inspire you. You will know instinctively which form of ‘rest’ you need. Be good to yourself and listen to your body and what it needs so that you can thrive! Today’s word is Harmony.
