4 new ones find their way

How does the gift of intuition end up becoming one's life work? Four of our newest psychics came to the conclusion that they were meant to be a professional intuitive during very different pivotal moments in life. Their unique experiences encouraged their decisions to pursue a career in metaphysics - some had even been working in other professions while dabbling with their psychic gifts.

One of the more unusual stories occurred in the corporate world where Abrielle ext. 9894 was a human resources consultant. She had just conducted a strategic planning session with a company's management team, when she was called in to the vice president's office. "I was told, rather mysteriously, that the executive wanted to speak to me - ASAP. I was understandably nervous. Had I upset someone during the session? Was the strategy I had presented faulty?" Abrielle didn't have a clue as to what had gone wrong, she remembers. But once inside the office, the top executive flashed a big smile at her and announced, "You are psychic!"

"Those words changed my life!" Abrielle reveals. She was relieved, rather than shocked, as others had made the pronouncement to her in the past. "The VP told me that the only way I could have unknowingly revealed top secret information in my presentation, was because I am psychic." From that moment on Abrielle began doing readings - mixing her business acumen with her psychic senses - making a positive, caring contribution to the world doing work that she says she finds thrilling.

It's not uncommon to hear of near-death experiences as catalysts for psychics to pursue their gifts openly, passionately, professionally. Rondalafay ext. 5102 says she avoided her spiritual connections as a teenager. She was uncomfortable over the uniqueness of her talents, she explains. "As a child, my grandmother helped me to understand my gifts and how to use them. She would play games with me every day. She taught me how to protect myself spiritually. Then when I was six, I found out she had died when I was two months old. As I grew up and my grandmother came around less often, I learned to rely on my spirit guide, Sara… and then later I ignored them."

In her twenties, Rondalafay drowned. She was resuscitated, and along with her second chance at life, came a great will to change paths. She spent a year on a reservation working with a gifted shaman where she experienced sweat lodges, fire walking and vision quest. She soon became known for having gifts in spiritual counseling and for doing psychic readings in her community.

Both Jamie and Vhee's beliefs that they might have psychic abilities were validated by other psychic professionals. Jamie ext. 5107 had two readings early on which confirmed her intuition that she was "different." She had been seeing spirits for as long as she could remember and had already explored her comfort zone with the messages she received from them. But again, it was not until a near death experience in 2007 that Jamie heard a wake-up call from the universe. After that, she decided to reach out and offer readings on a larger scale.

And then there are psychics like Vhee ext. 5109, who just couldn't believe what she could do until clients literally lined up for readings. Eleven years ago, while attending a three-month long psychic workshop, the instructor took Vee aside and told her with complete certainty that Vee demonstrated the abilities of a talented psychic. Vee didn't believe the instructor and even laughed at the idea. With a great deal of encouragement she finally acknowledged that the things she could hear, see and do… might be unusual. Soon afterwards, the instructor asked her to take part in a psychic fair. "Still not taking my gifts seriously, I set up my table, took a photo of it (I figured it would be the first and last time I would do readings), took out a book and began to read. I never did finish the first chapter - I did more readings than any other psychic there!"

Though each and every one of these "intuitives" knew from early childhood that they had a special consciousness that most other people did not have (or were not aware of), they say, it took a great deal of belief in their gifts, study and practice to become the professionals they are today. It was just like preparing for any other career, they say.
