Original, inventive and sometimes shocking, Aquarians are the rebels of the zodiac (think Aquarian James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause). They can be outcasts who rail against society or activists who fight for the rights of others. Whatever path they pursue, they seldom follow in the footsteps of others. After all, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of individuality.
A mixture of braininess and brilliance, Aquarians can entertain, enlighten or even change the world. Famous Water-bearers include Jennifer Aniston, Christian Bale, Lewis Carroll, Ellen DeGeneres, Thomas Edison, Clark Gable, Heather Graham, Ashton Kutcher, Abraham Lincoln, Toni Morrison, Christina Ricci, Justin Timberlake, John Travolta and Oprah Winfrey. We'll examine the charts of some of these stars to see what makes them shine.
Ashton Kutcher - February 7, 1978 His chart says it all. With Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus in Aquarius, Kutcher is extremely precocious - and playful. Along with appearing in numerous films, he produced and hosted Punk'd, a Candid Camera-type TV show that played pranks on celebrities.
In love, he likes a smart woman who is different from him in many ways. As such, his marriage to actor Demi Moore, who's 16 years his senior, appears to be a good match. He also needs a partner who shares his need to make a difference in the world. One way this power couple made a difference recently was going on the road to campaign for then-candidate Barack Obama. Still, with Mars in nurturing Cancer, Kutcher isn't all brains and no heart - he has a home-loving side as well. Which is a good thing since his Scorpio wife is a sensitive Water sign.
Christina Ricci - February 12, 1980 In the realm of weird, the role of Wednesday in The Addams Family films is close to the top. And what better role to launch this non-conformist Aquarian into stardom? What's more, Ricci has her own production company with the quirky name, Blaspheme Films. How very Aquarian! So just how strange is this enterprising actor? Ricci is an Aquarius times two. That's because her Uranus "squares" her Sun, which heightens her rebellious traits. Plus, a trine from Pluto empowers her brilliance as an artist. It also heightens her humanitarian streak - Ricci is on the national board of VOX-Voices for Planned Parenthood and is the spokesperson for RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) for the United States.
As for romance, Ricci has Venus in Aries (as does Jennifer Aniston), indicating she's headstrong and passionate in relationships. However, she has Mars in analytical Virgo, which complicates her relationships but adds some practicality to her airy nature. All in all, Ricci is a talented rebel with a cause.
Jennifer Aniston - February 11, 1969 Along with her film career, Aniston starred in the award-winning TV series Friends - no surprise there because Aquarius rules friendship. Aniston has Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, which says she's not just a pretty face, she's aware of what's going on in the world. She supports several charity foundations and has appeared in advertisements for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
As for romance, her love life has garnered as much attention as her career. She was married for five years to actor Brad Pitt. Aniston's Moon in Sagittarius near Pitt's Sun in Sag indicates a deep emotional connection. But Aniston's Venus in Aries, which opposes Uranus and Jupiter in Libra, says she needs an unusual amount of freedom in relationships - even for an Aquarian! Whoever holds her heart needs to respect her brainpower and give her plenty of space.
Justin Timberlake - January 31, 1981 This Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter rose to fame during the 1990s as a member of the boyband 'N Sync. The charismatic combination of Sun and Mars in Aquarius and Moon in Sagittarius assures his popularity for a solo career as well. It's worth noting that Aquarians sometimes stick together - Timberlake was the first celebrity to appear on Kutcher's show Punk'd.
Because the Moon rules family, Timberlake's Moon conjunct Neptune in Sag indicates an idealistic, spiritual nature that stems from his upbringing (his paternal grandfather was a Baptist minister and his father is a choir director at a Baptist church). It also gives him a vivid imagination that undoubtedly inspires his songwriting.
In romance, Venus in Capricorn says he prefers a partner who's sensual and earthy. However, a close Venus-Pluto square says he's attracted to willful women (he dated Britney Spears awhile back), although he prefers to be in control - a conundrum that makes for complicated relationships. To date, he is involved with actress Jessica Biel.
Whether they're artists, inventors or janitors, Aquarians are the movers and shakers of the world. Without them, it would be a dull world indeed.
