According to The Male Biological Clock: The Startling News About Aging, Sexuality, and Fertility in Men, guys over the age of 35 are two times as likely to be infertile as men under 25. Add that to a fact that approximately 10% of men are either infertile or subfertile (below average in this area) and guys may want to consider how long they're waiting to settle down.
"Infertility isn't just a woman's problem," author Harry Fisch, M.D., Director of the Male Reproductive Center at Columbia University Medical Center claims. Fisch warns against using a few famous guys who became dads late in life (Michael Douglas comes to mind) as examples of why men needn't worry - those guys are the exception rather than the rule.
So what does this mean for men who want to have a family someday? They might want to speed up their timetable for finding the one. Says Fisch, "Research shows that men need to care about this."
