Have you seen or felt the presence of ghosts or spirits in your home? You're not alone. Sherry Wingrove, owner of The R&R Station, a bed and breakfast in Pennsylvania, knows how you feel.
"Things would disappear and then reappear later, you heard footsteps when no one was there, and you could hear children bouncing a ball upstairs, and pots and pans would fly off the racks," she told a local newspaper. "For 13 years I wondered what was going on."
Then one summer, Wingrove decided to see if she was going crazy or if something supernatural was actually present at her little B&B. She contacted the Pennsylvania Researchers Organization, who monitored activity at The R&R Station. They set up cameras and recorders and spend the night in a different room each time they come, and as it turns out, Wingrove was right!
Research at her business showed orbs of all colors, several apparitions (one of which was a woman holding a child), evidence of ectoplasm (a substance that appears before a ghost materializes) and electronic voice phenomena, or EVPs.
"Some of the people were kicked, pinched or had their covers pulled off," Wingrove reported, but the paper says she was quick to add that despite this behavior, she believes the ghosts are friendly. "They're just letting us know that they're here."
Looking for more in-depth answers and information about her visitors, Wingrove also consulted famous psychic Dolores Martell-Concanon.
"What she does is not a joke," Wingrove said. "She smells, feels and hears in a paranormal way." Concannon visited the R&R Station and confirmed Wingrove's beliefs that the ghosts were friendly.
"Ghosts can cross from dimension to dimension, and a lot of times they will appear only on the date that they died," Concanon said. "Ghosts can come through portals such as mirrors, and they will also attach themselves to a specific item, so if that item is sold or given to someone, the ghost will go with it." She says that some ghosts cannot talk, and others don't realize that they're dead. In addition, she said ghosts can show up in dreams.
Wingrove's fears have been put to rest and her B&B has now become a must visit in the area... and of course, it's still haunted!
