If you\u2019ve been watching TV, you know ghost hunter and psychic shows are almost ubiquitous. You can’t click a remote without landing on one. A variety of networks showcase these series: the Travel Channel, Discovery, Syfy and A&E, among others. Having a tough time deciding what\u2019s worth watching? I\u2019ll help you decide:

\n<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Ghosthunters<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (5 out of 5 stars): Most fans claim that this is the only truly legit show — there’s no evidence tampering. The team follows a well respected process of reviewing their paranormal results. They tend to do episodes around the most famous haunted places.
\nGhosthunters went international and developed spin-off shows:
\n“Ghostunters Academy\u201d and \u201cUFO Hunters.\u201d You might remember the famous Halloween episode where they set up shop in a dinky, abandoned psych ward and streamed video LIVE.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This is the most solid show out there, so I have to give it credit but it\u2019s not the only great show.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Paranormal State<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (4.5 out of 5 stars): The Paranormal Research Society (PRS) was started by Ryan Buell. It\u2019s inspired by of his childhood experiences and his desire to find out the truth. What\u2019s awesome about this show is that on most episodes, the team helps families clear out angry ghosts and demonic forces from their home. Chip Coffey<\/a><\/strong> and Lorraine Warren<\/a> <\/strong>(famous demonologist) join the team. I definitely dig this show the most.<\/p>\n

Psychic Kids<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (3.5 out of 5 stars): Kids don\u2019t especially lie. When a 6 year-old girl is consistently talking about a woman named \u201cCatherine\u201d from 1866 visiting her in the middle of the night (and research proves that Catherine died in the area in 1866), you start to believe her. Chip Coffey picks 2 or 3 kids to come stay for
\nthe weekend at a haunted location. The kids are put through a variety of psychic tests. If you\u2019re looking for Ghostbusters 3<\/em>, this probably isn\u2019t the show for you. If you ever thought you were psychic, it\u2019s a great show to watch!<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Pet Psychic<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>(3 out of 5 stars): Sonya Fitzpatrick<\/a><\/strong> is the star of this show on Animal Planet. She\u2019s extremely detailed and quick with her readings. She loves pets, and if you do too, this one is for you! She solves problems and acts as a Dr. Dolittle<\/a><\/strong> of sorts. The animals have really funny and interesting things to say<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Ghost Adventures<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (3.5 out of 5 stars): The Travel Channel brings us 3 guys who like to provoke spirits and scare the living daylights out of each other. It\u2019s entertaining, ridiculous, and scary. After initially touring the property and interviewing eyewitnesses, the crew is locked down for the night with no means of escape. The lead guy, Zac Bagans, makes me laugh because he\u2019s so insistent on catching the best evidence. When a demonic presence is caught on camera and Zac has scratch marks on his body, the plot starts getting good!<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Most Haunted<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (2.5 out of 5 stars): This is a British TV show documenting a team of investigators and psychics who go out on location to allegedly haunted spots around the UK. The main lady is pretty entertaining but I get annoyed when she talks over everyone on her team and fuddles up the EVPs. The hook: it\u2019s fun to watch haunted and historical locations in the UK.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Ghost Detectives<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (2 out of 5 stars): This program follows a team of investigators moonlighting as cops by day, and ghost hunters by night. This is a lot like watching Steven Segal as a cop in Louisiana — it\u2019s fun to a point but gets boring really quick.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Haunted<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (2 out of 5 stars): Re-enacting ghost
\nstories which mimic other re-enactments — on shows like America\u2019s Most Wanted, <\/em> I watch this when nothing else is on! That may sound harsh, but I\u2019m just
\ncomparing it to the other shows here. Haunted<\/em> is like the Lifetime special of ghost shows — there\u2019s some substance to it but it\u2019s certainly not scary.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Haunted<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (3 out of 5 stars): The Haunted<\/em> kicks it up a notch from Haunted<\/em>. I like that it tends to focus on the household pets\u2019 perspective while paranormal activity is going on. This show also re-enacts the actual events but they tend to be a bit more dramatic!<\/p>\n
