My friend Jen in Las Vegas recently lost her kitty. Here is her story:<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday night, I kept dreaming about my cat, Mr. Woo, whom I’ve had for 18 years. I\u2019ve lived with Mr. Woo in three cities and have had him longer than my\u00a0ex-husband and two long-term relationships. I had four dreams about him that night and the last one was very insistent and vivid. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the dream, he had one sharp claw and was pressing in my hand very hard to get\u00a0my attention and made me look deep in his eyes. I woke up and just knew that meant either he was saying goodbye or wanted me to look deeper than just his symptoms (he had diabetes for a long time). In the morning, I immediately took him to the vet and he was, indeed, in his last hours. The vets thought it might be cancer given his age or heart disease because of his diabetes\/kidney disease. There was a lot of “grayish” area and his intestines were all smunched up. By this time, he couldn’t breath and had to be sedated, so we made the very difficult decision to put him down. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am not sure if the dream meant anything – but I think it was his way of telling\u00a0me that I might have to make that decision when I woke up – and to be okay with it. Even when you know it will happen – nothing prepares you for it. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
