The\u00a0High Priestess,\u00a0sometimes called the Popess, is the second card in the Major Arcana.<\/p>\n
She appears with a book\/scroll and a crescent moon. The letters\u00a0B and J\u00a0are shown on pillars. These letters stand forBoaz and Joachin (the names of the pillars in Solomon’s Temple).<\/p>\n
Some\u00a0believe\u00a0she is the Queen of the\u00a0Underworld. Others\u00a0say she’s secret keeper to Man’s\u00a0darkest truths. Regardless, she is a healer and teacher. How she\u00a0finds herself healing and\u00a0guiding\u00a0can be defined in which way she captures a spread.<\/p>\n
The High Priestess is extremely creative, a singer,\u00a0or a\u00a0dancer. Therapists, educators, midwives,\u00a0 psychics, and caretakers,\u00a0will be portrayed as this dynamic lady too. Inverted, this may refer to a woman who’s holding herself back, underestimating her own\u00a0mental ability, maybe even\u00a0allowing herself to be objectified.<\/p>\n

The Queen of Batons (Wands) is very similar to the High Priestess, yet there are subtle differences. As a wife she is funny, able to “hold court,” and creative. Inverted she may be an unfaithful wife, successful yet jaded, and fickle.<\/p>\n
