What does a typical day-off look like for you?
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether I\u2019m working or enjoying a day off, I\u2019m always awake around 4:30 AM. I know it\u2019s crazy, but it\u2019s my natural clock, so I listen to it. I begin the day by catching up on the news and social media while I drink my coffee, before turning my focus to my daily Buddhist chanting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next on my list is leading my Mom, Stepdad, and\nmy brother through morning Zoom yoga, followed by my favorite potatoes from a\nneighborhood restaurant for breakfast while I catch up on some personal study. Recently\nI\u2019ve been studying works on Mediumship, Buddhism, science, as well as the works\nof Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer. I usually round out the morning with a reading\nfor a private client, then some journaling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as the afternoon rolls around, I turn my phone off and devote myself to writing. I\u2019ve been taking a few classes on scriptwriting for nearly a year now, and I\u2019ve been collaborating with my mom on a few scripts. We\u2019ve completed the writing on two of them, and we\u2019re editing the second at the moment, which is based on the period of my life when I was a stand-up comic and storyteller!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, I do give myself a little bit of relaxation at the end of a productive day off. Pizza and Netflix are my personal favorite combination for a Saturday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you clear your mind after being\non the line all day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After working my longer shifts I like to start by quieting my mind. I just like to let go and appreciate all of the people I’ve talked to and send out prayers that everyone had the courage and ability to win in their lives throughout the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will then do something to space out like check out recipes online. Ever since stay-at-home orders began, I have started baking a bit, so I like looking up what to make next when the mood strikes me. Or I may watch a low-key show on TV to help my brain turn off. I have to admit, I love Family Feud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I work late into the evening, however, I do go to bed within a couple of hours of getting off the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the fun things that you like to do in your free time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love to paint pictures, especially spray paint pictures. I mostly only do it in the spring and summer so that the paint dries fast and doesn’t make my neighbors hate the smell. I cannot wait to have an art studio in the backyard of my own house. I also love to make homemade affirmations decks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the day I also liked going to movies in the afternoon; they were a great little hideaway. I can’t wait for the theaters to open again.

Here is a story about being star-struck as a child. I was raised in a Buddhist organization, and we would travel all over for Peace Parades. I was part of the Buddhist marching band and played the fife. When I was 12, we got to go to Hawaii for a convention. When we got to the airport, however, our tickets were all messed up. The entire marching band performed a chant to help make the seating arrangements better than they had originally been. Clearly, it worked, because once the tickets were all sorted out, ten of us were put in first-class! We couldn’t believe it. I ended up next to Tom Selleck. (For those of you too young to remember, he was the famed star of Magnum P.I.) I asked for his autograph, but he said NO! The nerve! He didn\u2019t want to give them to everyone apparently, so he shook my hand instead. I watched him drive away at the gate after we landed. When I got back home, everyone wanted a piece of my hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the absolute truth. After ten years, I have so many deeply fond memories of the people I have spoken with.
