In the process of finally unpacking all my books after a recent move, I came across a book on the thirteenth century Persian poet, Rumi, and was immediately reminded how powerful and apropos his words still are. I originally came upon his quotes when they were included in an amazing cookbook I was reading, and I became completely enamored of his work. I enjoyed the cookbook as much for the quotes scattered throughout as I did for the recipes that it contained!<\/p>\n
In this week\u2019s Daily Focus, I am sharing some of my favorite quotes from Rumi with you, who seemed to love life and sugar as much as I do.<\/p>\n
Life should be filled with passion and drive, but if we don\u2019t have the right people around us, cheering us on, it is easy to lose that drive and settle for a life that is merely serviceable. Just as it is important for us to infuse our lives with purpose, passion, and excitement, we need to make sure that the people we include in it will fan our flames in the right ways. Today\u2019s word is Burn.<\/p>\n
There is a beautiful German word: Sehnsucht<\/em> which roughly translates into “longing”, “desire”, “yearning”, or “craving\u201d.
