The Indian Yugas and the Mayan Great Year<\/h4>\n

The Mayans were among the many cultures<\/a><\/strong> looking at the larger cycles that appear in the skies and in life on Earth. Possibly the most famous long cycles known outside the Mayan long count calendar are those of the Yugas of the Indian masters, also called the \u201cGreat Year\u201d by Plato.<\/p>\n

Complete Yuga cycles have been interpreted as 24,000 to 26,000 years, or roughly five Mayan long count cycles of slightly over 5,113 years ending on December 21, 2012.
