Reality can be defined as the creation of thought, and its projection into the physical realm. In the world of astral projection, the conscious mind leaves the physical body and moves into the astral plane. The astral plane is defined as encompassing the “entire physical and non-physical universe.” In Astral Projections for Beginners<\/i><\/b>, McCoy describes it as “the art of sending forth the consciousness at will to other places, other worlds, or other times, and then bringing it back with full knowledge of what has been experienced.” <\/p>\n

To help you get a better understanding, here’s a basic summary of McCoy’s step-by-step guide:<\/p>\n

Step 1: The Foundation<\/b>
There are only three prerequisites for astral projection. First, if you’re serious about this, you must try it a quiet and safe environment. <\/p>\n

Second, your body must be warm and in a relaxed position. This requires a great deal of calm, so you must be completely comfortable in a posture that minimizes movement. Finally, it’s really important that your consciousness be heightened. You can achieve this with some form of regular meditative practice. <\/p>\n

Now meditation, for some, can be a feat in of itself. McCoy suggests a different meditative practices ranging from controlled breathing, mental counting, chanting, and visualization. They all produce the desired effect. The purpose of meditation is to lower your brain waves and allow your mind to relax enough to accommodate the desired astral projection.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Keeping Track<\/b>
Get a journal to jot down your experiences. McCoy suggests chronicling things like time of day, weather conditions, astrological information, etc. This information will, over time, paint an accurate picture about your astral projection success to failure ratio. It will be easier to determine what elements make for a more successful projection experience. You’ll get a greater perspective on the overall experience, too. <\/p>\n

Step 3: Spring Cleaning <\/b>
There are seven different chakras (or energy centers) in your body that correspond to different mental, emotional, and physical functions. Since psychic messages and energy pass through these chakras, it’s key to make sure that they are clean – especially if you want to attempt astral projection and have a positive experience. By making chakra cleansing a routine, the energy flow will remain unblocked. <\/p>\n

To enhance your energy (and astral projection experience) make it a point to incorporate exercises for each chakra into your regular routine. Begin with prayer or meditation for your whole being. Clear your brow with visualization, remote viewing, and lucid dreaming. Cleanse your throat by gargling with saltwater, singing, or screaming. For your heart chakra, do some push ups, swimming (breast stroke), and hug yourself. <\/p>\n

To clear your solar plexus, try dancing. The Twist, belly dancing and hula hooping are particularly effective. Performing pelvic thrusts and circular pelvis movements clear your sacral chakras. Try stomping your feet upon the ground, marching, and doing squats to clear your root chakras, and chakracise your aura<\/a> by showering<\/a>, soaking an epsom salt bath, smudging with sage wand, or deep cleansing breaths.<\/p>\n

Finally, be sure to use your favorite incense, oils, ointments, or any other aids like candles to help you relax and feel comfortable. Many people have said that their astral experiences were successful because they used these tools. <\/p>\n
