I have an Angel in my life. She is black with silky fine hair, gorgeous green eyes and a knowing spirit and kind voice. I call her Spirit for two reasons. The first for her playfulness and energy (ie \u201cspirit\u201d). The second for her communion with \u201cspirit” (ie, the higher power in all of us).<\/p>\n

Since she came into my life in August of 2008, my world has dramatically changed. At first we didn\u2019t really relate to each other, and that was my fault. I thought I could go on with my painting and writing and she would be fine with that. It seems Spirit had different ideas. During that first summer we spent together, Spirit immediately showed me what she was all about. Once while doing a phone reading, she came up to the table I was reading on, and placed her little paws on the Tarot cards<\/a><\/strong> to indicate her input. The kitty has been an inspirational accomplice ever since.<\/p>\n

She seems to really <\/strong>know when to come near<\/strong><\/a>, and will always jump into my lap when a caller seems terribly distraught. Sometimes she will rub her face against the phone when she feels a caller is especially sad. When she knows the caller does not need urgent help, she will just curl up in my lap, or jump onto the footstool.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And who ever said animals can\u2019t talk<\/a><\/strong>? She talks to me every day, and has actually adjusted her conversation to mine. Although she was always a \u201cmeower,\u201d she seems to have adjusted her language skills to mine, responding to my questions with an appropriate meow, to a pet on the head with a short abbreviated sound, and to my arrival back home, with an extensive meow. She also has perfected a short kind of hop-jump that she does against my leg when I arrive after being absent for awhile. This is her kitty \u201chigh five,\u201d saying, \u201cHey, I missed you. Welcome home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman I adopted Spirit from said that we were meant to be together, and I truly believe that. I thought I\u2019d saved her, when she really saved me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
