After more than a year of publicly battling pancreatic cancer, actor Patrick Swayze<\/a><\/strong> passed away on September 14, 2009 – one year ago today. The fiery Leo<\/strong><\/a> dancer extraordinaire was star of such hits as Dirty Dancing<\/em>, Point Break<\/em> and Ghost<\/em>. Swayze’s mother ran a dance studio in his native Houston, Texas, and after a stint as Prince Charming in Disney on Parade<\/em> and as Danny Zuco in the original Broadway production of Grease<\/em>, Swayze began working in film. An interesting placement of Mars Square Pluto<\/a><\/strong> might explain his optimism throughout his battle after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This placement also gave him a tremendous amount of willpower to pursue his dreams passionately and relentlessly. Since his diagnosis, he had been working steadily on the television show The Beast<\/em>. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa Niemi, whom he met at his mother’s dance studio. May he rest in peace and may his legacy continue to shine on.<\/p>\n
