A Haunted House Comes Alive

My Grandparents and I had spent the last six hours in the car. Grandpa had taken a wrong road. I could tell we were hopelessly lost. A white mist, which Grandpa said was fog, surrounded the car and filled the road ahead. Grandpa stopped. As the fog lifted we could see that the road ahead led to an old two story house. I could see lights flickering in the windows. It smelled like musty swamp. We drove to the house and parked in the front.

Grandpa got out of the car, walked to the front door, and knocked. An old woman dressed in black answered the door. After a few minutes, Grandpa returned to the car. He told me and Grandma that there were two rooms we could sleep in on the second floor. Grandma and I were to stay in one room and Grandpa in the other.

As I climbed the stairs to our room, I could feel eyes everywhere. One thing I really remember as we entered our room were medicine bottles on a dresser and a beautiful tall armoire. We got ready for sleep and crawled under the covers. It was very cold and I snuggled close to my Grandma. As I drifted off to sleep the feeling in the room changed. It felt eerie…

Grandma sat up suddenly and looked over at the dresser with the medicine bottles. A bottle of rubbing alcohol had started jumping around. Grandma got out of bed, walked over to the dresser, and picked up the jumping bottle of alcohol and put it on the floor. Grandma was never afraid of ghosts because she was born with a veil on her face and had dealt with ghosts since she was a little girl.

As soon as she went back to bed, a small alarm clock on the dresser began jumping up and down. Grandma sat up again and said to the ghost, “Stop that! We are trying to get to sleep.” The small clock stopped jumping and quiet overtook the room. It seemed like two endless hours had passed when I felt someone slowly pulling our covers off. Grandma said again, “Stop that!”

The covers didn’t move anymore but sounds from a nearby room startled us. It was a creepy, creaking sort of rocking. Grandma got up to to see where the rocking sound was coming from, but just as she did, the left armoire door flew open. A dark shadow emerged and moved close to me … then disappeared. Grandma found an empty room with an old rocking chair – rocking all by itself.

We left the house in the middle of the night. The old woman told my Grandpa that the house was resting on a cemetery and the hauntings were sometimes unbearable. As we got back into the car, Grandpa laughed, scratched his head, and we all looked over our shoulder as we drove away.

Amazing story, you are so brave, I think I would had a hart-attack. The thought of a ghost in present scares me.

I’m only able to feel there presence as a cold draft but not able to see them as light or anything else.

Some of my callers say those who crossed over try to make contact with them at times, but the callers can’t understand or know how to communicate.

Glad your back safe. Bettina ex5065.

    Hi Miss Krystal,
No drinking out of my coffee cup,

… but moving pictures in frames sitting atop furniture around, or turning them over entirely……

…and my dog will stare, wag his tail, and bark playfully at them sometimes sometimes too.

( they had better leave my coffee alone…..he he…especially in the morning )…..he he

Hi, Great scary story! I’ve heard the phrase before, but have never understood what it means “to be born with a veil…” Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me.

    Hi Gina Rose-
I do the same thing…And since it works, this is one of the reasons I always say, “There is nothing to fear.”
Been doing it for years. They listen, too….It’s good to remind people that this works. Your granny and great aunt were sharp ladies! You are very lucky.
Nobody in my family taught me anything about this field. Had to do it all on my own.
ps grandpa has been around for days, again, here in the apartment. He is drinking my coffee, again…..do you get that? Spirits taking a drink from your cup? Just curious.
    have a blessed week,
    Miss Krystal
