Red Responds: Can You Trust the Tarot?

Not All Tarot Readings Are the Same

Sheryl from Imperial asks:

Do you truly believe that Tarot cards do not lie and hold truths to one’s past, present and future? I could pull cards for you and then two hours later, I could pull cards for you again and they would be different from the ones I first pulled. If I am the same person, why are the card different each time? And how do you know that what you’re saying when you pull cards is true?

Psychic Red ext. 9226 Responds:

Dear Sheryl,

As for your first question, I’m actually kind of glad you asked. It’s a topic that I feel will help and benefit many people, yourself included. Note, I am answering you strictly from my experience and point of view. I am not speaking for any other psychic, or California Psychics as a company. Having said that, I’ll tell you what I know.

I have personally seen the same cards come up for an individual, consecutively, hours later, and even so much as days or weeks later. So, it does happen. I don’t know how or why. I’ve even used two decks for an individual, and pulled the same cards from each deck during the course of a reading. Now, that’s pretty freaky when you run the numbers and look at the statistical probability. But, it happened. I’ve also had people tell me that they received the same cards when read by someone else. Again, freaky, but true.

No one knows for sure how or why Tarot works, but it is a valuable and respected tool. But, as with any tool, they are only as useful as the person using them. For example, if you wanted one of those fancy chainsaw carvings of a bear for your yard, you aren’t going to get the same results from someone who does chainsaw carvings for a living as you would get if you handed the neighbor’s 18-year-old son a chainsaw and a picture. Reading Tarot is the same way. You can flip cards for hours, and look up their meanings in the little booklet that comes with most decks, and be able to make sense of the reading. Or, you can study Tarot for years, and learn what the pros know: It’s not just about the card. It’s about the card, particular aspects of the card, the card’s position and placement, and the relationship to the other cards that surround it. There are also many meanings per card, which changes with every reading. Every deck is different. Some, so much so that the meanings between different decks aren’t only vastly different, they can be at opposite ends of the spectrum!

You also asked how do I know that I’m not spewing BS to my clients? That answer is simple. I give a damn. I believe that my karma is immediately intertwined with each and every person I read for. And, while I do use cards as a tool, that’s just what they are to me. Plus, any reading I give is not based on Tarot alone. You see, I’m actually a psychic. I use the cards as part of a system of checks and balances, especially when things aren’t totally clearly and concisely being relayed through my other gifts. You will never hear me claim to be 100% accurate, because I’m not. I’m gifted, not a god. You will also hear me say things like, “I’m not sure,” and “This could change.” Why would I say such things? Because I have honor and integrity, and respect for every life that I touch. I’d rather have someone get upset with me for not telling them what they wanted to hear, and actually equip them with the most accurate information I can glean, then blow smoke. What a person chooses to do with that information is up to them, but I sleep peacefully at night, knowing that I did what I’m here to do, to the best of my ability and capability.

And, while I’m on my soapbox, I’ll also tell you this: California Psychics is a very unique company. Every psychic on the line has been evaluated and tested. Repeatedly. When you call any psychic here, that’s what you are paying for and getting: A psychic. So, if you don’t trust cards or tools, choose a psychic who only relies on their natural talents and gifts. There are many, and each a credit to the trade.

I can tell you, though, anyone who calls for smoke and mirrors, or carnival slight of hand and tricks, is very likely to be disappointed. When a person is guarded, and trying to trip a psychic, they will, cards or no cards. But those who call with skepticism, but an honest need, will benefit from the reading they receive.

If you are interested in learning how to read Tarot for yourself, there’s a bunch of us who would be more than happy to help you. But cards, much like everything metaphysical, will pick up on your energy, and mess with you from time to time. It doesn’t mean that your future has so drastically changed; often it just signifies that your issues and fears are getting in the way.

I hope this answers your questions, and gives you a better understanding of who we are, and what we do.

Brightest Blessings,

Red

Libby 52888 – Very Well Said Red!!! I am a reader for California Psychic, yes!! tarot do change from time to time, but also a client need to also understand that we are not a carnival of circus clowns just giving them what they want to hear. I am honest with my work, I respect how I read for my client’s, so many of us are hurting and a great deal of changes come to many of us with hardship in relationships, I believe like you said, we have to sleep in peace after several readings, the truth is I am also like several of our readers, honest. I ,in particular don’t sugar coat, I am honest and tell the client what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.if a client is paying for this call, it is going to be the TRUTH. The truth sometimes is very painful, but the truth dose free us to move forward, to rebuild ourselves and develop self-confidence with the truth. Thank you Red for this great information.

I am a man but a faithful reader of California physics. This is very informative. Being a Virgo libra cusp I have been battling with the sign Virgo most of my life. Articles from this sight have somewhat helped to answer my issues. I have yet to pick a physic to call but will soon. Ty

I have a reading by Tarot as far back as 1995, 1997 the reading i have had is the same as the reading i had in 2012, how is this possible, and what is it when the person says the it will happen in the next 6 months or i can see a 5 around all this, the same thing has been told 17 years later. I know there is not a time factor, can it be that its still to happen or is the reader just bluff in>
