Try These Tips for a Soulful Boost!

Feeling down? You are definitely not alone. There are many things that can bring us down on a daily basis, so it is essential to actively do uplifting things. Consider trying some of these soulful ways to pick yourself back up!

1. Have a “staycation.” Spend the weekend at home relaxing with your family.
2. Go to the opera, the ballet or a play. Pick a story that you think will “move” you.
3. Schedule daily meditation time to wind down.

4. Spend several hours at a spa. A massage or facial will also work wonders.
5. Read an inspiring book like Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret, which will empower you.
6. Figure out which people are bringing you down and disconnect from them.
7. Evaluate your job situation. If it lifts you up, great! If not, start searching.
8. Engage yourself in a new hobby that distracts you from any negativity.
9. Make a “Vision Board” with images of all the things that make you feel good.
10. Write a list of your accomplishments. Post them on the fridge for daily viewing.

12. Tap into your creative side and make homemade gifts for the holidays this year.

18. Keep a positivity journal in which you only write about great experiences.
19. Evaluate the feng shui of your home and make any necessary updates.
20. Finally do something you have always wanted to do and relish the achievement!
21. Start an exercise routine. Physical energy will appease your inner self too.
22. Exchange a bad habit for a good one. For example, have a morning tea instead of your usual coffee.

Try some of these ideas, and do not to limit yourself to this list. Do some soul-searching and think about what uniquely makes you feel more fulfilled. Personally, I am in the process of working on #16 because I am finishing up a degree program this fall. Thus, I am already relieved to know I won’t have homework next semester. In addition, I will not run for my homeowner association board again because it took up more time than I anticipated this year. Letting go of these two responsibilities will lift a huge weight off my shoulders and will give me more time to do things that enrich my spirit.
