Lack of Sleep

You probably know how important sleep is to your overall health, but it also plays an important role in your sex life. Lack of sleep is wreaking havoc on your libido, ladies! You should get more sleep and here’s why: Studies suggest that women can gain as much as a 14 percent boost in their libido just by sleeping one extra hour per night. If you think about it, that likely offers more promise than a prescription Viagra for women (if they ever come up with one).

Complex Emotions

Most scientists agree that female arousal depends on more than hormones or attraction. In fact, her emotions, moods and prejudices often come into play. That’s why female libido is much more complex than male libido.

Research suggests that age can play a big role in a woman’s libido. But before you assume that the older a woman is, the less aroused or interested in sex she gets, think again. Not Enough Foreplay

Some people aren’t getting the message about foreplay and that can be detrimental to the female libido. Think of foreplay as a warmup! You wouldn’t go running without stretching first, so why would you have sex without making sure your partner is fully aroused? Another benefit of having a sexually aroused partner is that they may be more open to trying something kinky than they would be if foreplay wasn’t on your love menu. Never expect a woman’s libido to be self-ignited. Sometimes you have to put just as much work in the pre-show as you do the finale.

 Short Men

According to research done by Dan Ariely, a professor of psychology and behavioral economics, women feel sexually attracted to taller men (5’10” and above). On the short side? You may need to make an additional $42,000 per year than your taller competitors. But the good news is, not all women are attracted to taller men. Many women are impressed by more than just height or money! But if you have to work a little harder in the beginning of a relationship, all that work is just going to benefit you in the long run.

    One you missed is boredom.

I know I personally get very very very bored when someone wants to skip time and activities together and go straight to sex. Um…. no.

It isnt about foreplay. Its about connection. It’s about reminding me why I picked you instead of some other guy. (Hint: it wasn’t because we were both adult, carbon-based life forms with working genitalia.)

I want to enjoy YOU not just your body. In fact if your brain and your heart and your personality are not present why would I care what your body is interested in?

Just to be blunt I don’t care if you find me arousing, UNLESS you demonstrate that you find me INTERESTING. You feeling hot and bothered not intruiging to me until and unless you yourself are intruiging to me.

If you have nothing to talk about, nothing you want to do, no where you want to go, and nothing to discuss with me then my interest in your sexual capabilities in absolutely nil.

What’s kind of sad is that I’m not speaking just to the commitment phobic guys here. I’m also talking about the men who try to have relationships this way.

I think all men should also remember that women are very sexual creatures and enjoy sex a lot and want to have plenty of it. But we aren’t interested in being bored out of our minds by yours only having one track.

This article is sadly missing additional remarks about women’ libido after 50. What happened, did we just ‘stop’ enjoying good sex? I am 65 and been with a man who is 51 for three years and am happy to say I feel so well loved both physically and emotionally, perhaps more than at any other time in my life. Young womanhood and then middle age has passed now. Women as older adults, now know how beautiful the gift of passion is, How critical it is for a sense of well-being to be about the business of nurturing our core of well-being by creating time and space for passion for all the days of our lives.
