Unique and Affordable Valentine’s Day Ideas

Celebrating Love

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, and that’s right at the beginning of the workweek for most people. Some may be celebrating the weekend before or after, while others may not feel like celebrating at all. If you’re looking for something new, different and affordable to do, consider my romantic and fun suggestions—even if you secretly think Valentine’s Day is a holiday invented by greeting card companies.

Your detailed love reading is waiting! What does your romantic future hold?

Record Store Date

If you and your partner love music, you could meet at a record store and buy music for each other. That takes care of the date and the gift in one fell swoop! Perhaps there’s an album they’ve always wanted, but never purchased. Perhaps you have an album in mind you know they’d love if they just heard it. A record store date is a creative way to explore each other’s music tastes on Valentine’s Day. Once your purchases are made, you can head home to listen to them together over takeout.

Home-Cooked Dinner Followed by Drinks at a Local Bar

Instead of paying those inflated Valentine’s Day dinner prices, cook dinner at home for a cozy night in. Then go to a local bar for a nightcap. Don’t experiment with a new recipe on Valentine’s Day. Instead, make something you’ve perfected and then go out into the world and party it up! Consider a pub crawl—a good way to incorporate a long walk into a night of excitement.

Hump Day Date Night

Don’t feel obligated to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the actual night, like everyone else. Instead, go out on Wednesday for a meal that is more affordable and tastier—the wait staff won’t be in holiday panic mode. You may even want to take the entire day off so you can enjoy local activities while the rest of the city is at work. It’s nice to have a break in the middle of the workweek and enjoy some personal time with your honey. You can also spend Hump Day in bed. Get intimate, watch movies and order takeout. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home if you don’t want to.

Get  a Love Reading

Why not treat you and your honey to a psychic reading? Call one of our love psychics and let them paint a picture of your relationship’s future. Find out what exciting things you both have to look forward to or what challenges are on your path. If you’re single, you can also call a love psychic to find out what’s in store for your love life this year.

Movies and Games

Whether you’re in a relationship or single, consider hosting a movie or game night at your abode. Cuddle up with your sweetie and watch the latest romantic comedy. Or, invite friends over to watch some classic favorites and eat snacks. Make this night your cheat night and eat anything you want! Play board games and unwind. Don’t stress out about being single if you are. You’ll go to bed content and dream about all the chocolate that goes on sale on February 15.

Meet Someone at a Bar

If you don’t have a date, but you want one, head to a local bar. It will be filled with other singles looking for love. Some bars even have themed parties, so do a little research and then get ready to mingle. Take a single friend for support or go at it alone. From dive bars to classy hotel bars, people will be looking to make a love connection.

Sure, Valentine’s Day is a commercialized holiday and many people will tell you they don’t like a holiday telling them when to buy gifts, flowers and chocolates for someone they love. But, there is something romantic about celebrating love at the same time as so many other people. No matter who you are or where you are in life, you can celebrate love on Valentine’s Day—however you define it—without feeling left out.

It’s not so easy to come up on something unique. This year I bought a special gift to my boyfriend – a star from kingdom of universe! I heart about it from my friend and I think it’s great idea and so romantic of course 🙂 I can’t wait to see his face
