Inspiration from the Other Side

A writer gets a spiritual push

Sometimes the things we're most passionate about - the things we would most like to accomplish in life - are the very projects we tend to put off. Time flies, and that half-finished oil painting still sits in the garage, or the screenplay languishes, because we can't seem to find the end of the story. How do we make those big dreams come true?

Maybe we let self-doubt set in, or our busy lives don't leave us much time for our cherished projects. Maybe our priorities just get confused.

A writer who called herself Sam (not her real name) turned to Reggie ext. 5120 for some much-needed inspiration to complete her memoir. Within an hour, Sam got much more than she was hoping for… from a mentor and from loved ones on the other side!

As the call began, Reggie asked Sam to breathe in through her nose, and then breathe out through her mouth, telling her that "as we breathe, we are connecting, soul-to-soul."

"With this breath, customers become open vessels I can tap into," Reggie explains. "I can barely hear some callers breathe - while others, like Sam, give me a long, strong inhalation and exhalation. When that happens, I know we'll have a good connection."

"Wow, nice breathing. You're good at this," he laughed.

The psychic could hear Sam relax, and she told him, "I like a man with a sense of humor."

"Who's M?" Reggie enquired.

"My boyfriend."

"You're writing a book."

"And you're good at this, too!" she replied, cheerfully.

At this point, Reggie could see a vision of Sam in his head. She was sitting at a computer, typing away speedily. On the screen, he watched chapter numbers fly by, and then suddenly the action froze. It was jolting. Sam then appeared to be staring out of a window. "You're writing a book. You haven't finished. You're procrastinating," the Clairvoyant, Clairaudient and Medium stated.

"Very good. My writing coach died suddenly, and I haven't been able to finish my book. My confidence seems to have gone with him. Those chapters you described, I wrote those when I was studying with him. I haven't written anything good since he passed away."

"You teacher wants you to push yourself to finish," Reggie responded, knowingly. "I smell cologne. He smells like lemons..."

"Yes, he did. He always did," Sam interrupted, with a note of excitement.

"He's wearing jeans, and a corduroy jacket. He's carrying a motorcycle helmet."

"Wow! What's happening? Do you see him? It's definitely Harris."

"Yes, you're both in a classroom, but it's as if he's only speaking to you. 'Just finish the book. You don't need me, you know in your heart that you don't really need me,' he's saying."

"I can't believe it… this is so wild."

"Who's the gray-haired man who smells like cigar smoke? He has a recipe for oatmeal cookies that you love. There's a woman, an aunt, with him. They want to make sure that you include them in the book."

"That's my crazy family - my Grandpa Max, and my Aunt Tallie. They put me through college. They were always my greatest supporters," Sam told him. "I really have to get my book done. I really have to do this," she announced, in a sudden rush of inspiration. "Harris, Talllie and Max are all cheering me on… no one will believe this!"

"They're leaving, but your aunt says she'll be at your side as you write."

"This was so much fun!" Sam declared, thanking Reggie for her reading.

Months later, it came as no surprise to Reggie when Sam called to tell him she had completed her book. "I just had to call and thank you again. After that reading, I felt relieved and inspired. I've been writing nonstop since we spoke… I almost couldn't type fast enough."

Her agent had just called to inform her that several publishers were already showing interest in the story. "So, thank you. I'll never forget my reading with you, Reggie. And guess what? I dedicated the book to Max, Tallie and Harris."
