When will my life get better? My caller Sandy (not her real name) told me she knew her question was general, but it was the question she needed answered. She asked me to focus in on her 18-year marriage and her job as an accountant for the federal government.
I tuned in on both work and marriage and realized that her life was out of balance. As a Clairvoyant, Medium and Tarot Reader, I saw that Sandy was working very hard both at work and at home, but sadly, she wasn't getting any pleasure from her efforts. It was apparent that there wasn't a terrible event that had caused her general dissatisfaction with her life or her career.
Actually, things didn't look all that bad, except that Sandy was bored with her marriage and bored with her job - everything had become routine. She was so disheartened that she couldn't pull together the energy to do a thing about it. She was looking for excitement, but didn't know where to start.
When I told her, she didn't disagree. "You and your husband have gotten so caught up in the business of life, that you've lost sight of the love you once had. There is no fun, there is no excitement - and that's affecting everything."
I asked Sandy what she wanted to do when she was ten or 12.
"Oh, I think I was just happy being a kid… playing sports, being on a team," she said with a lively, animated spark in her voice. Her favorite sports had been softball and volleyball. "I went to college on a partial softball scholarship," she continued, taking on an even more animated tone.
I immediately knew what might help turn Sandy's life around. I gave her two homework assignments. One, to find a city team she could join - and warned her to not hesitate or argue with herself about not having the time or the energy to do it. And two, I recommended that she go to the bookstore or the library to search out a book filled with affirmations about all areas of life, including marriage and work. I told her that the right book would resonate with her. Next, I sent her out to a shop that sells offices supplies, for a bound set of index cards to begin collecting and writing down her favorite affirmations, and perhaps creating some of her own.
I explained the power of these affirmations - short sentences stated in the present tense capable of changing the energy around any situation. "Divine love prospers me now…"
I used as an example, and explained the importance of actually believing the words as they are repeated.
"Does my husband need to make any changes to save our relationship?" Sandy asked pointedly.
"He does," I told her, "But the only actions you have control over are your own. Once you're playing on a team again, you'll feel energized and happier. That will spark a ripple of energy that will change the dynamics both at home and at work. Your husband will notice the change. He will see the woman he fell in love with - and he'll make the necessary changes on his own."
I know that when I speak to Sandy again, her life is going to be very different because of the actions she has taken to take care of herself. She couldn't wait to start researching her athletic options and couldn't believe that she hadn't thought of the idea herself. Talking to her, I was reminded of the instructions the stewardess gives us as we get ready for takeoff on an airplane … to put on our own emergency mask if needed, before trying to help someone else.
