Are you waiting to be rescued, looking for a lifeline, a bailout, a visit from the good fairy… to help you find love, a better job, or pay your overdue bills? There are callers, our psychics report, who are looking for just that.

They temporarily forget that in reality, "Nothing is free." The majority of inquiries they get from people facing adversity right now, they say, is for insight into how they can "save themselves." It's a feeling we've all had.

Yet some callers are so bogged down with troubles, that they demand that psychics extricate them from their problems right then and there, tells Alison ext. 9885, who has received a number of those insistent calls. If clients are willing to listen, she explains, she can help each caller see and sort through their own specific options so they can ultimately decide what to do themselves. Most people understand this and settle in to listen eagerly, our psychics confirm.

Alison recently read for a man who tried to pressure her into telling him what he should do for a living. He had suffered an injury on the job as a landscape laborer and was eligible to be retrained. He had no idea as to what to study and was still upset that he couldn't go back to his old job. Alison's guides suggested landscape design, among other ideas.

"Have you ever taken any classes in drawing landscapes? Alison asked her caller.

"Yes, but they don't need anybody to do that at my company," he responded angrily.

"My guides tell me to suggest that you incorporate feng shui into your drawings, too, should you decide to take the training and work for a different company." He hadn't even considered that option, so her caller's mood lifted with each additional idea they discussed. They spent over an hour on the reading, going through his job training potential. He hung up confident and excited that he would find the right future for himself, reports Alison about the successful reading.

Victoria ext. 9930, describes a similar situation on a recent call. A client felt she was going to be laid off and wanted Victoria to help her avoid it. "She was looking for hope in the face of despair, and unfortunately, I did feel that she would lose her job. I did see a building that I was able to describe very clearly, a sort of landmark, where I saw my caller going to work. She said she knew the building and the job I was thinking about, as she had often thought about working there. She decided to call HR the moment she got off the phone and send them her resume. She was grateful that I had helped her find a path of least resistance."

When clients wish to be rescued, it's because they're so overwhelmed by their circumstances that they are unable to see any way out at all, Maryanne ext. 9146 explains. "I can see the doorway out of their situation, their first steps and the path to results, but they ultimately have to do the work."

In times of trouble, the more we dig in and help ourselves, our psychics say, the more resilient, confident and rightfully proud of ourselves we become. Happiness comes with responsibility. "Nobody in this day and age wants to take care of anybody, or has respect for those who don't at least attempt to take care of themselves. That 'white horse' rescue story doesn't happen… though I find there is a group of people born 1985 - 90 who seem to want to be taken care of more than others, " Bobbi ext. 9465 believes. They are prone to continuing their childhood into early adulthood by living at home irresponsibly, looking to marry for money, avoiding school and a job. From her experience on the line, Bobbi finds, these tactics usually backfire.

Those callers aside, most customers do want direction, choices and advice as to what's coming and how they can be prepared to deal with their crises. Since we all have a limited amount of energy, particularly during hard times, some psychics tell their callers to cut down their wish lists and work through their most important dreams thoroughly.

Move thoughts into actions by beginning with a dream and dreaming it, they suggest. Then create an action list to make that dream a reality and at a gut level, be honest with yourself as to whether or not you are truly able to manifest your dream. In readings, psychics can see if callers are being honest with themselves about their capabilities.

When times are difficult, we all hope that something good will happen - that's human nature. But, it's also time to draw upon our strengths and focus beyond our worries. Sure, some people will still win the lottery, and yes, some people get a windfall from caring relatives, but mostly, one psychic laughs, what we do get from those who care about us is "love and chicken pot pie."
