As a remote viewer, Darcy ext. 9488 works diligently to seek out the details of the location she is examining for her callers. She can't describe the usual things in a room, she explains (like the double doors or the size or color of the couch), so sometimes clients don't believe she has actually traveled to check in on their situation.
Instead, Darcy is attracted to and locks in on the most interesting aspects of the place she is viewing, of which she then describes to callers. "If they're still not convinced, I say, 'Well, I can go into your drawers and describe every object!' Ultimately, people, say, 'no, that's oaky!" she laughs.
The psychic who also works as a Medium, bringing her callers messages from the other side, also says that unless you give first-time callers information that really resonates with them, it can take much convincing from both the psychic and their departed loved ones to get a message across. This was the situation with Nan, (not her real name) who told Darcy, "I've never had a reading before and I thought it would be interesting. Can you suggest something?" she asked uneasily.
"What would you like to know about?" the psychic responded sensing that there was a specific question on her caller's mind.
"Well my mom died a month ago…" she replied hesitantly.
"Then lets get your mom in here," Darcy suggested enthusiastically. "What was her name?"
"Sis," Nan responded, then waited in silence.
"There's a cabinet with a collection of beautiful crystal objects in the room you're sitting in…" Darcy described as Sis began to come into the picture. "Your mom says to turn around, it's behind you." Nan didn't comment. "She also says that there's a long table across the room where your family used to celebrate the holidays. She liked to cook, but her recipes were a little crazy."
Nan, agreed with Darcy. "Your mother's wearing a '50s poodle skirt in blue," she described to the 45 year-old caller who finally acknowledged that she had always been very close to her mother and had saved all of her favorite outfits from her past, including the blue appliquéd skirt. "She's showing me another dress, a red and white polka dot one from the '60s, I think. She's telling me she had great legs," she reported, giving Nan the information as quickly as she was receiving it.
"Wow," she said, beginning to believe that her mother could actually be communicating through Darcy from the other side. "My dad always loved her in that dress, and he loved her legs!" She called out to her father in the kitchen. "Hey Dad," I think this is the real thing!" But her father couldn't be bothered with the information, Darcy reported. "I think I could believe all this if my mother just told me one very special thing," she suggested.
"Why is Sis showing me two urns?" Darcy asked her client. "One is pouring something into the other…" she described when her caller let out a blood curdling scream.
"Oh my god! Dad, she knows about the urns," she called out. She explained to Darcy that her parents had vowed to have their ashes mixed and spread together at the place they had first met near a lake in the mountains. "Nobody knows about that, except the immediate family," she said shocked that Darcy had given her that information.
The psychic told Nan that her mother had a message for her. "I see a hand removing an oxygen mask," Darcy recalled telling her client gently. "She says it's okay. Actually she says you should have done it sooner…" at that point Nan was sobbing uncontrollably, saying Darcy was right, and she hung up the phone, thanking her.
A week later Nan called Darcy back to tell her that the message had meant everything to her. She had been living with the fear that she had "killed" her mother. Nan explained that she had taken over her mother's care after the doctors and her family had given up all hope. The family would not shut down the machines keeping her mother alive without a consensus of agreement, so Nan took on the responsibility of keeping her alive. Eventually, she told the Medium, it became clear, even to her, that her mother should not go on in that manner. At that point she had climbed into the bed with her mother's unresponsive body, and as the doctor's had instructed, finally let her mother go. She had stayed with her long after her heart had stopped beating.
"It's not unusual for those who have been given the enormous and heartbreaking responsibility of deciding when or whether to 'pull the plug' on family members who have no chance of ever waking up in our world again, to suffer from immense guilt and unease even after their loved one has been laid to rest," Darcy explains.
Nan still calls Darcy to ask a question or connect to her mom. She admitted to the psychic that she had been in a deep depression for many months before and after her mother's death and finally, was moving away from her intense grief. Nan feels her mother's spirit about the house, and is always close in her thoughts.
As time goes by and Nan appears to be doing better, Darcy believes she was chosen by Sis to help her daughter get through the trauma of the events that surrounded her passing.
