Can a Leo, born July 31, 1951 and widowed October 8, 2005, find happiness with a Virgo, born September 12, 1951? We have so much in common. Both of us are left-handed and both like so many of the same things. His wife died six months before my husband and he is having such a hard time with the idea of a new relationship, even though he says he wants that with me. He says he still feels guilty at times for having feelings for me.

In my dream, I was in the house I lived in during my first marriage. My current husband seemed to be with me. I had come back from walking my dog and opened the front door to see my couch covered with rats! They seemed to have melted onto the couch. I couldn't believe my eyes, but my thought was "How am I going to clean up this mess?" In the dream, my current husband and I were together trying to see how bad the situation was. Everywhere we looked we could see rats or see evidence of them having been in the rooms. A fluffy white animal was also on the couch among the rats and seemed to be alive. I was telling the animal to leave my house… when my husband woke me up, he said I was moaning. Later, when I thought about the couch in my dream, it appeared as it had looked before my divorce (before I had it recovered).

Although the rat infestation feels revolting, your dream actually holds an encouraging message. I believe your unconscious is saying it's time to work through some unfinished emotional issues you have with your ex-husband, as symbolized by the rats. You're getting ready to "clean up the mess," as you so succinctly put it. Your present husband being in the dream suggests that these issues are influencing your relationship with him. Fortunately, you see him as willing to help you sort through "the mess." You might ask yourself if there's something happening in your relationship with your current husband that reminds you of your first marriage. Are you reacting to something in a less-than-resourceful way? The white animal probably represents the part of you that's untouched by these issues. You may also feel powerless to handle them. And although you want to remove yourself from the negativity (the rats), it's probably best to stay and deal with it instead. Also, it's interesting that you used the word "recovered" when describing the couch. If the couch represents your everyday life with your ex-husband, what issues from the past do you need to "recover" from? I suggest meditating on the couch - and the rats - and see what feelings come up for you. They may hold the key to emotional healing.
