Let Love Flow

How to accept an outcome

by Daina Hulet

Our expectations can get us into trouble. Instead of trying to force outcomes, it may work better for us if we patiently let things flow. Whatever is meant to be will happen, and all we can do is be true to ourselves, says Courtney ext. 9552 who can channel ascended masters, as well as guides and departed loved ones.

She passed this valuable piece of wisdom on to Maritza (not her real name), a 25-year-old graphic design student from Palo Alto, California who had reached out to California Psychics to get some help with her beau of three years.

"As soon as I tapped into their energies, I sensed that I was dealing with a compatible couple. However, there was a growing amount of tension between the two. It seemed as though Maritza really wanted to get married and as a result she was hounding him about it nonstop.

She relayed this to Maritza, but her client objected. "You're right - I do want to get married, and I've brought it up. But after all this time together it's only normal that I want to know the direction the relationship is taking. After three years, he should want to marry me."

Courtney pointed out that while Maritza had a point, it was her impatience that was, in fact, repelling her desired outcome. She was standing in her own way. "She was actually pushing him away with her hassling, and so, of course, he was withdrawing into his cave. I told her if she kept up her antics her boyfriend was going to walk away. The nagging, which stemmed from childhood issues, was working against her."

It was during this point in the conversation that Maritza became quiet before admitting to Courtney that she was frightened. Her parents had never married, and her father had abandoned the family when she was only three. She was panicking, because she felt a loss of control.

Now that they'd located the root of Maritza's nagging behavior, Courtney helped her deal with her feelings of insecurity and advised her against operating out of fear.

"I told her to focus on the desired outcome, instead of harping on what she didn't have. It's about living in gratitude and appreciation. After all, she had a man she got along with, who loved and cherished her."

Courtney also suggested to Maritza that she tell her partner the reasons behind her behavior. Finally, she went on to explain that he simply wasn't ready to go there - just yet. He was concentrating on school, and he was in no rush to tie the knot. She was only going to get married after she truly learned to step aside and allow the universe to bring forth what was in her best interest.

Six months later, Maritza contacted Courtney with wonderful news - she was getting married. After their initial call she had a heart to heart with her boyfriend that brought the two of them closer together. She also decided to go to therapy to heal her childhood wounds, and she never nagged him about marriage again. She tried her best to focus on all the positives in her life - and that's when he surprised her on bended knee!
